Sad news that our friend Peter Twitchett, (Waddon Pete) had a stroke yesterday, I have no more information on his condition, but I know he has many friends here. Our very best wishes to Peter for a speedy recovery, and here's hoping he's performing again soon.

I have known Pete since 1970, from pre waddon days, i have a clear recollection of him singing with her head tucked underneath her arm, complete with actions, at dartford folk club, a great guy, stay with us for a bit longer my old mate.

Saw him on Monday. Sitting up and reading but bored out of his skull. Speech OK but right hand not up to scratch so no guitar for a while! If you're near BSE then he's in West Suffolk Hospital, Ward G8. He hopes to MC a concert in Woolpit in 3 weeks time! Will update when I know more.

Just a quick update from the pen of Pete himself, rather than family members.

Life is a round of blood tests, physio and blood pressure taking at the moment. It changes your perspective. Typing is interesting too. Lots of mistakes to correct!

Thanks to everyone for their good wishes.

I am moving around (slow shuffle) and getting more feeling back in my hand. Hopefully manage to get to the village pub soon.

Yes, this is true, although it must be said I only was able to go for an hour and I croaked rather than sang! The folks there were very kind and didn't throw anything.

The beer was lovely...well worth waiting for. Trevor keeps an excellent pint.

Luckily the pub is only about 500 yards away from my front door or I would not have been able to make it there so easily.

Hello.

I notice that it is over 2 months since there was an update here, so I thought I'd let you know what has been happening. First an update for those who haven't yet read the entire thread. There I was, chugging along quite happily when my life suddenly hit the buffers. It was something over which I had no control. However, I am now able to type (with the great assistance of Mr. Spellchecker) and beginning to feel more like my old self.

It is a slow old business but I am happy to report that I am slowly improving and following a determined regime of exercises that keep me busy. I can now drive (short distances) and am walking (with a cane). I don't go that far when I walk, however. I have also battered my recalcitrant fingers into playing some of my guitar accompaniments although the faster, more complicated accompaniments are still in abeyance. Friends up this way have also encouraged me to go to some sessions and Pete Allison got me to play at Swaffham Free Festival, so life is slowly returning!

I hope all is well with you. I am very grateful to everyone for their continuing support. What a bunch!
