To avoid misunderstanding,we don't actually know Megson! I meant that we introduced Nick to their music. :)

Glad you liked our Longshot and that we introduced you to the writers Megson (they live in Cambridge). You and your wife do a great job and thank goodness for people like you that actually DO something instead of moaning.

Just a quick note to say Thank-you to all those who joined us on the Glaisdale trip. Numbers were down a bit on previous years but that had no effect to the music which as always was great. We managed to raise £130 for the Rescue Boat and I think everyone had a good time. My particular favourite was Long Shot by a couple from Cambridge(?) what a great song well preformed.

Did you manage to make it Ull Lad?

I take it that is the train ticket Mr Ull, look forward to seeing you again and sharing a pint (or several) and a song. Not long to go now, the weather forecast for the week is not too bad with the exception of the Saturday.

Just to recap on times:

The outbound train leaves Whitby at 12.44 arriving in Glaisdale at 13.08

The return train leaves Glaisdale at 17.26 arriving in Whitby at 17.54

What's getting upperty?

Mr McGarry and myself have enjoyed many a session together both in Whitby and elsewhere. Punch the Horse did a fantastic night for our 25th anniversary celebrations some years ago. He doesn't get to Whitby these days though so I don't see him as we seldom go to other festivals.

And as for observations you can make as many as you like me old love, it keeps the thread active. Ta.

Thanks Noreen, and as for Ossenflags(Mr McGarry)he has been on the trip several times and is responsible for us still singing "Leaving Nancy" on our way back to Whitby, hopefully finishing just as the train touches the buffers. Mick singing and me playing, great fun.

'GUEST,resident(sort of)'and 'GUEST,Ull lad':

I suggest you choose one name to post with and stick to it- or were you intending to have conversations here with yourself to make your pov seem stronger?

Get a life- and maybe organise something yourself, instead of just criticising others.

Have fun on the train, all :)

Wombat and I spoke to the landlord of the Arncliffe Arms yesterday and he has reserved the big room for us during folk week. As always we will be rattling the can for the Runswick Bay Rescue Boat.

Train out 12.44 arriving Glaisdale 13.08

a quick dash up the hill to the Arncliffe Arms

Train back 17.26 arriving Whitby 17.54

Please note we will have an extra hour this year due to a change in the rail timetable.
