Subject: BS: Track gun-owners from space? Not! From: Lighter Date: 10 Apr 14 - 03:35 PM You'll gasp when you read who's claiming that US Attorney General Eric Holder plans to track the whereabouts of gun-owners electronically 24/7, via satellite I suppose. The facts: http://news.yahoo.com/conservatives-furious-eric-holder-them-wear-anti-freedom-130951982.html |

And, as expected, the regular gang of brain-dead assholes are believing it. Oh, ye nation of morons. Kind of a dog-bites-man news item, eh? |
Subject: RE: BS: Track gun-owners from space? Not! From: Rapparee Date: 10 Apr 14 - 05:42 PM Sorta stupid idea, like the one of putting a gun's serial number on the firing pin so that spent cartridge cases will tell which gun shot them -- taking no account of changing firing pins or simply filing the number off. Just toss the bracelet (if it would work at all) in the back of a police car or drop it on an out-bound train. |

Subject: RE: BS: Track gun-owners from space? Not! From: KB in Iowa Date: 11 Apr 14 - 04:37 PM I have to think that if there really are any gun-owners from space they probably ought to be tracked. At least until we find out why they are here. |
Subject: RE: BS: Track gun-owners from space? Not! From: gnu Date: 11 Apr 14 - 06:14 PM I am absolutely opposed to the sale of guns to aliens from other worlds unless they take an NRA approved gun safety course and score at least 55 on the 20 question true or false written exam and do NOT point any loaded gun at anything that doesn't deserve to die during the practical exam. Republicans excepted as long as the aliens don't discharge the weapon on purpose. TRUE STORY... I took the test. At one point, the warden asked me to pick up a pistol and the appropriate ammo, load the (blank) ammo into the gun and show him what I would do on a firing range. I picked up the pistol, ensured it was not loaded and placed it back on the table. He asked me what I was doing. I replied, "That's what I would do on a firing range or anywhere else... make sure it was empty and leave it alone. I don't believe in pistols." He said, "I could fail you for that." I said, "For being more safe than required? I doubt it." I passed. Before anyone on either side gets their ass up in the air, we don't do pistols in Canada. Only on a range and they are VERY STRICTLY controlled and have been since 1933. A restricted permit for ownership can be had but it ain't easy and the restrictions on use are tightly controlled. |

Subject: RE: BS: Track gun-owners from space? Not! From: Rapparee Date: 11 Apr 14 - 10:14 PM I used pistols for one thing only: target shooting. Like they do in the Olympics, or doing "Cowboy Action Shooting" which is moving from a loading table to the target shooting area to the unloading table -- loading and unloading are supervised by a range office. Revolvers (old style single actions) are loaded five rounds in a six round cylinder and the hammer rests on an empty chamber. Rifles are loaded and left on the table with the chamber empty and moved to the firing line the same way. Shotguns are moved ONLY with the barrels "broken open" or in some other way showing that the chambers are empty (you load them before firing them on the firing line). There is a range officer timing you and a second officer, a safety officer, counting your misses and watching your every move. There are other safety measure as well. Targets. Paper, steel, plastic. No glass, no fooling around, hearing and eye protection REQUIRED even if it's not "cowboy." And no, I don't shoot at "silhouette" targets. Circles are good enough for me. |

Subject: RE: BS: Track gun-owners from space? Not! From: Uncle_DaveO Date: 12 Apr 14 - 12:59 PM You need to catch those gun-owners from space as they get out of their spaceships and imbed a chip in their anatomy! Then you can track them. Dave Oesterreich |
