Rosie is 70 on Thursday, she is no longer very mobile and would be very chuffed were any fans, folk friends to send greetings.
She has been my "Lady for Today" for decades now.
Happy Birthday Razzi.

I remember seeing Rosie at Whitby folk festival I think it was with Tony Rose in a concerty session many years ago andshe was one of the most outstanding folkies of the generation and when women singers were few and far between

I seem to recollect she is also an avid Barry Manilow fan, well good for you and I hope life treats you with respect

Ray

Saw her a coule of times at a Folk Club in Bilston, think it was the Old Bush. Wonderful singer and Barry Manilow's greatet fan surely ;) I think she even wrote a song for him? Sorry to hear she's unwell, she gave audiences a lot of pleasure. Does she still perform?

I just wanted to call in on my birthday and say a huge thank you to everyone for their good wishes.
I am disabled now with arthritic and spinal problems but I'm glad I was able to do the yearly concerts with Graham Cooper between 2006 and 2009 before I had to stop performing for good. Having officially retired in 92 I was stunned how quickly they sold out and how far people came for them.
If any of my old pals are ever in the Midlands near Sutton Coldfield and have time to call in for a chat and coffee you would always be welcome. Just write to me at my website and let me know! http://www.rosiehardman.com/rosie.htm
Once again thanks again for your messages... I really appreciate them!
Love from
Rosie xxxx

I have just seen this post, and although it is way past your birthday Rosie, I would just like to wish you,all the very best that life has to offer, now and always.
I first saw you sing at the "Red Lion" pub in Westhoughton, on a Friday folk night. I had come to watch the Houghton Weavers perform, as I had long been a fan of theirs, and knew Tony Berry as a personal friend (his mum and mine were good friends, and he later went on to marry my friend Gill.)
It was a busy night, and the pub was packed and noisy. Everyone was used to seeing good folk acts of the day, so no one turned a hair when you came on to sing.....that is until you opened your mouth!! You could have heard a pin drop, and from those first few notes of pure magic, we were all transfixed and under your spell. What a voice! We asked for encore after encore, and would not let you go. I will NEVER forget that night, and even at 64 years old, I still treasure the memory.
You have a God given gift Rosie. Thankyou for sharing it with us all, you have given us memories to treasure. May I wish you health and happiness, now and always. God Bless you, special lady. Love Christine x

If recent posters will check the start of this thread, they will see that Rosie celebrated her birthday in February and her 70th in 2015. Still, I am sure we can all send our best wishes to Rosie!

Happy Birthday - 2019 - Rosie,
I was introduced to you and your music at a Folk Festival in 1980 and have been playing Stopped in Your Tracks ever since. It has aged beautifully.
Thank you dear lady and you have a lovely birthday celebration.
