for our upcoming salmon cd. i have been searching through nps, epa, noaa etc...bookmarked a few. will not get involved with copyright issues. must be public domain. looking for sockeye or other reddish salmon, not thousands at once, but a few. tones of red and green should predominate. no bears eating salmon pictures. no dead fish. should be some movement...swimming, leaping up waterfalls etc. more colorful the better. links to specific pictures would be great. again..no copyright issues.

Hi, mg-
Click that google image link above. Then click on the image you want. It will enlarge, and it will give you bottons to "view image" and "go to Website."
After you click "view image," right click on the image that appears, and select "save image as..." That should allow you to save the image file on your computer. Then click the "go to Website" button and check to make sure the image is indeed in the public domain.
This male red salmon is rather nice, and it's in the public domain. So is the female (click). Save the URL (address) where you found the image, because your publisher is going to want to check it to make sure the image is Public Domain.

Good luck.

-Joe-

Any images put up by US government agencies are by default in the public domain. You can look at Fish and Wildlife and National Park Service sites, probably even the US Forest Service recreational pages may have something. I added "public domain" to your thread title, it might be clearer for people as far as soliciting suggestions.

SRS

All federal or state pics by the government are public domain.

I have a nice cover photo and a generic one for back that will be covered with writing...i could probably jse something for cd itself...public domain salmon tbat curves around the center hole..would love to use nativeamerican art but not sure if they would prefer i did not. Also need some historical photos for a lyric booklet that i will just print out or they can download as pdf...if you enjoy looking at old photos would love input. Lets stick to government photos where we know for absolute sure there are no copyright issues.
