Subject: BS: British Davis Cup team From: Kampervan Date: 21 Sep 15 - 02:37 AM I think that Andy Murray is great, and well done to him for all of his achievements, but is he the only member of the British team? Apart from being told that he was joined, for a doubles match, by his brother, I haven't heard the name of any other team member on the BBC news. Or have I just missed the praise being heaped on the other team members? K/van |
Subject: RE: BS: British Davis Cup team From: GUEST,Allan Conn Date: 21 Sep 15 - 07:09 AM Probably because like in the quarter final all the points were secured by the Murrays so in these types of tournaments, like the Ryder Cup etc, the headlines are about who secured the points. Andy won both his singles in each round and the brothers won their doubles in each round. In the Quarter Final James Ward lost his singles and didn't need to play the second one as the tie was won after Murray's second singles win. In the semi this weekend Daniel Evans lost his initial match though he played well - then even though the tie was already won they did have them play the final singles match which again Evans lost. James Ward won of his singles in the first round and the media did make a thing about that at the time. |
