Icelanders will never learn a thing ..sad ..so sad . there are new bankers now doing the same things ..so I hope we jail them as well ... the viking way is always the way in Iceland ...Icelanders are lost . |
Subject: RE: BS: Iceland Goes After Bankers From: Paul Burke Date: 23 Oct 15 - 07:41 PM The bankers won (not a Spoonerism). "Austerity" is the result= we bailed them out, now we owe them the money we gave them. There aren't half been some clever bastards. Now, using the (false) analogy of household finances, the UK Conservatit government has passed a law useless except for propaganda purposes "outlawing" unbalanced budgets. It's useless because no law can constrain future Parliaments. They are sovereign under the (unwritten) British constitution. Even in its own terms it's stupid. No family conforming with this "law" could buy a house unless they had cash in hand. I hope the next government uses it as an excuse to raise taxes for the rich to a 95% marginal rate- the Beatles' "one for you, nineteen for me"- which was applied in the Sixties. If they emigrate (become "economic migrants") all tghe better for us, a sort of delousing. |

Subject: RE: BS: Iceland Goes After Bankers From: GUEST,Sol Date: 24 Oct 15 - 06:27 AM How utterly brutal & unfair. In the UK we give them bonuses & a knighthood! |
Subject: RE: BS: Iceland Goes After Bankers From: GUEST Date: 24 Oct 15 - 08:36 AM And Scotland wanted independence but keep the Pound! And the two worst banks for being propped up? Clydesdale and RBS - based where? Which is why they wanted 16 year-olds to vote - they who didn't have the knowledge & experience in sufficient quantity to understand & project into the future. But both the Neverendum and Banking will happen again. Give it a couple of generations when politicians and house buyers as well as new age bankers will not have that fear of the inevitable and off grows the bubble again. History repeats itself. It has to, no-one is listening! |
