Subject: RE: BS: My work here is done From: GUEST,achmelvich Date: 01 Nov 15 - 01:52 PM what happened to the muskets? they were a pain to be honest. anyone leaving here could try the gaughan forum, but would have to behave-they don't take no shite over there. it's positive. |
Subject: RE: BS: My work here is done From: Dave the Gnome Date: 01 Nov 15 - 02:30 PM Huh? |
Subject: RE: BS: My work here is done From: GUEST,achmelvich Date: 01 Nov 15 - 02:35 PM what i mean is that the discussions on here (almost) inevitably turn repetitive and negative. this doesn't seem to happen on that other site |

Subject: RE: BS: My work here is done From: Dave the Gnome Date: 01 Nov 15 - 04:48 PM Possibly gnomic in my opening post. Definitely obtuse in understanding a couple of the responses. I am away for 24 hours and seem to have lost the plot. What does my post have to do with Musket or parrots? |
Subject: RE: BS: My work here is done From: Steve Shaw Date: 01 Nov 15 - 05:35 PM Long John Silver had a musket and a parrot. Have you got just the one leg and are you longish? |

Subject: RE: BS: My work here is done From: Dave the Gnome Date: 01 Nov 15 - 06:28 PM I think it could well be, Will! (Thumbs up likey sort of thing at you) Not sure about being a gnome in longjohns, Steve, but I was reminded of an old computer joke. What goes 'pieces of seven, pieces of seven'? Parroty error... |
Subject: RE: BS: My work here is done From: GUEST Date: 02 Nov 15 - 03:50 AM "Huh? As in WTF?" back at you Dave. I took it that your opening post was announcing your departure from Mudcat. It is clear (to me) that others also interpreted it in this way, some even celebrating the fact. The connection with Team Musket is that they haven't made an appearance since the back end of August and you were, perhaps, going to join them. Have you got just the one leg and are you longish? Gnomes are, surely by definition, shortish. Perhaps you are Short John Silver, Long John's vertically challenged cousin? DC |

Subject: RE: BS: My work here is done From: Mr Red Date: 02 Nov 15 - 04:29 AM Or was he talking about his fishing? All gnomes have a fishing rod. Well god one Dave you certainly caught a few. LOL |
Subject: RE: BS: My work here is done From: Dave the Gnome Date: 02 Nov 15 - 05:48 AM The simple 'Huh?' was in answer to GUEST Date: 01 Nov 15 - 01:35 PM and GUEST,achmelvich - PM Date: 01 Nov 15 - 01:52 PM, DC. Guess you were the first? Got it now - Thanks but, no, I am not going anywhere and it had nothing to do with anything on Mudcat. I will just say that working for 25 hours solid does strange things to your head! The "Huh? As in WTF?" was for the GfS who makes little sense at the best of times and made even less here :-) Cheers DtG |
Subject: RE: BS: My work here is done From: Doug Chadwick Date: 02 Nov 15 - 05:16 PM Guess you were the first? No, not me. I was logged in but my first attempt at posting didn't take. It seems that my cookie was eaten at the same time and, without realising, my second attempt was posted as an anonymous Guest. DC |
Subject: RE: BS: My work here is done From: GUEST,achmelvich Date: 02 Nov 15 - 06:35 PM what happened to the muskets? or is that a name we don't mention? |
Subject: RE: BS: My work here is done From: akenaton Date: 02 Nov 15 - 06:58 PM They've gone ach, but their aroma lingers. |
Subject: RE: BS: My work here is done From: Dave the Gnome Date: 03 Nov 15 - 02:42 AM At least one of the Muskets name is well known, achmelvich. You could try getting in touch if you are really interested. But, especially seeing as I have already said this has nothing to do with Mudcat, why bring it up here? |
Subject: RE: BS: My work here is done From: GUEST,Raggytash Date: 03 Nov 15 - 03:15 AM There are people on this site who frequently complain about personal remarks being made towards them. Is it my imagination or are they also guilty of doing the same. (see post at 06.58pm) |
Subject: RE: BS: My work here is done From: akenaton Date: 03 Nov 15 - 03:36 AM They almost ruined this section, observe the proper discussions now taking place. Do you think the Pope in America thread would have made 1000 if they had been around. |
Subject: RE: BS: My work here is done From: GUEST,Raggytash Date: 03 Nov 15 - 03:58 AM That (although I'm not sure I agree with your observation)does not alter the fact that the very people who complain most frequently about personal attacks are often the very same people who start the process off. If people do not want personal attacks on themselves it would seem logical not to make personal attacks against other people in the first instance. Just a thought. |
Subject: RE: BS: My work here is done From: GUEST,Mr Red in a sensible moment - it won't last Date: 03 Nov 15 - 04:13 AM Is it my imagination or are they also guilty of doing the same. (see post at 06.58pm) As a dispassionate observer who attempts to address the issues rather than the issuer I would say your imagination can take a rest. They do. This is analogous to the observable and measurable phenomenon of kiddies fighting (and not so kiddy too). Child A pushes Child B who pushes Child A who etc. But there is a discrepency between what the pusher feels and what the pushed feels. As a result the force grows at about 70% per push until the parents or biceptual limits interveen. You can see it in threads. But to be honest, it is the responsibility of the messenger to phrase adequately, and the reader to interpret correctly. Angry people don't usually use emoticons. |
