The article in this issue written by the recently deceased Don Firth speaks to that magical time that we all experienced in out folk music "growing up days". Those hours we spent listening to ourselves, and the occasional "professional" who passed through town on his way to bigger venues.

I, as well as many others, are anticipating the release of Don;s memoirs.   bob(deckman)nelson

Bob, the photo is from Walt and Patti's birthday, 1957

Stew ... I really enjoyed reading the late Don Firth's article about the early "hoots" in Seattle. I recognize several folks in the picture: that's Walt Robertson holding the guitar, and that's Patti McLaughlin sittng on the floor in the middle of the room, looking at Walt. Judging from the folks present, I'm guessing that this photo was taken in a Seattle living room, circa 1958.

I know that Don Firth's son is in the editing process of Don's book. He has sent me excerpts of it for many years ... I can't wait to read the final product. CHEERS, bob(deckman)nelson
