absolutely true story.

So I go downtown and in the grocery store I ran into a friends little girl. She is 22 and is the cutest little thing you ever seen. Maybe 80 lbs if she was holding a sack of flower, tiny little elf. Well, I noticed on her neck was claw marks and finger bruises. I asked her if someone attacked her and she told me this story. "Well, my EX got drunk and broke into my house at 3 in the morning and then he grabbed me and started choking me". I said OMG what did you do. She goes on to say, "Well I reached over and grabbed a coffee mug and whopped him upside the head with it smashing it all over the place, then I gave him a shove and he rolled down that long stairwell that I have , and then I called the police". I asked her what did the cops do and she said, "well he got 18 stitches in his head and they put a cast on his broken arm and then threw him in jail". She said I told him when he was laying there, "if you ever bother me again, you will get more of the same".
Honestly, I could not stop smiling. She said the cops kept telling him, you messed with the wrong girl for sure dirt bag.

She pressed charges and they told her since he had a prior felony he would most likely go away for years. Good very good. The entire world is nuts today

Oh, Dan. Don't be unfair to unlucky people who are nuts Don't forget her key words, "My ex GOT DRUNK..." Somewhere I read that alcohol is involved in 97% of serious crime.

It was lucky for her that he was so stupid and overconfident that he attacked her at the top of a stairwell and she could push him down.

Good for your young friend, who is sticking up for herself.

Amen Leenia. I glad she handled it and not her dad. I know him well, great guy but a lot like me :)

I have three neices. They are ladies, through and through. They raise their pinkies when drinking tea. They are polite and, considering the stock they came from, well bred and well read. Do not, however, take them for anything except very capable women. If you do you will be lucky to only be seriously wounded and, if male, missing your, well, you won't have to worry about low testosterone. Their father and uncles insured that they would have the basics and their brother Joe, certified as a hand-to-hand combat instructor with the US Marine Corps, put on the polish. Each is also a very good shot with rifle and pistol (each has one of the latter) and has taught survival courses for "women in the outdoors" classes. In the summer, in their white frocks, you wouldn't know the steel beneath the velvet.

As for Olddude's friend, I hope that he is enjoyed in prison.

Why is it unfair? Was he forced to drink? If not, he got all he deserved.

Love it! But, I am in agreement with leeneia that alcohol is to blame on a number of levels... it IS a disease and it certainly afflicts to a greater extent people in poverty and those less "balanced" or intelligent. As for him going to jail or prison, I hope he gets the help he so obviously and desperately needs. Having said that, if I had been at the bottom of those stairs... >;-)

I am very glad her dad used some restraint and let the law handle it. The guy should be glad he is just going to jail. Had it been one of my girls, they would have pulled his arms off (all black belts like their dad) I trained them to handle such things. However, a coffee mug seemed to work just fine for her

alcohol is to blame on a number of levels.

That may be an explanation, but its certainly not an excuse.

No... it is certainly NOT an excuse. As I said, I hope he gets the help he needs when he is in jail or prison. WTF do I have to explain/justify everything little thing I write in this... oh, yeah, right. Never mind. gnightgnu.

Wow! Almost like a real life version of the scenario of Martin Carthy's song "A Stitch in Time" Good to know a coffee mug can do as good a job as a frying pan and a colander! She didn't even have him stitched in and gave 'im what for! Brava, and you go girl!

Alcoholism is a disease. Getting drunk when there's no alcoholism is just being stupid.

Breaking into someone's house at 3 a.m., drunk or not, is still a crime. Choking someone is a crime. He's lucky that's all that happened to him.

Alcohol is often call "liquid courage".

I'm glad to hear that your friend is OK. It could have easily turned out differently. And it does, every day for some other women.
