Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Golden Lady by Lynn Baker From: GUEST Date: 08 Jul 22 - 12:39 AM It's a beautiful song. I have the soundtrack LP (packed away somewhere), but I wish it were available digitally so that I could add it to my playlist, but I understand that Ms Baker wanted it to be for Delores Taylor only. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Golden Lady by Lynn Baker From: GUEST,Lyricist Date: 06 May 18 - 04:21 PM Here you go, Max. You have it all right up to the middle of the bridge so I’ll start there. You are my teacher You taught me living When I was cold You made me warm Golden Lady made of peace Your kindness set me free When I was trembling I want to give you something too Something of the joy I’m feeling Something of my love for you Something of my love for you Lynn thanks you for your interest and regrets she didn’t know about your search back in 2015. I have her permission to post this. It is in G with a D minor thrown in, but transitions to C during the bridge and then it has a G minor. How that happens she is not quite sure anymore. She also says that the story of the song, as you told it, is true. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Golden Lady by Lynn Baker From: Joe Offer Date: 27 Mar 18 - 08:19 PM Hi, Lyricist - We're ALWAYS looking for the best transcriptions we can get, even on threads that are twenty years old. Please post 'em. -Joe- I put my headphones on and watched the video. Here's what I got: Golden Lady made of love You gave so much to me when I had nothing I wanna give you something too something of that of which I am made as your love came from you Golden Lady full of hope you showed me that as well when I had nothing I wanna give you something too something of the dreams only I can see as hope was seen by you you are my sister you gave me friendship you are my mother I am reborn You are my teacher you taught me ______ The only thing I could add, is the "I" in the first verse. That last word could be "something" or "loving" - she just mouths the words. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Golden Lady by Lynn Baker From: maeve Date: 28 Dec 15 - 05:03 AM Well Max, I was sure you'd have heard from someone by now. I thought the last word of verse three looked like "love" in the movie clip. Perhaps you and your future brother-in-law could round it out with one more verse- if you think it necessary. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Golden Lady by Lynn Baker From: maeve Date: 24 Dec 15 - 09:45 PM How interesting, Max. I bet someone comes through for you before I'll have a chance to look into it. This will, at least, refresh it for the night owls. Merry Christmas, Max. Thank you. Maeve |
