Subject: RE: BS: If Big Data is so smart... From: Sandra in Sydney Date: 07 Mar 16 - 06:25 PM a few months ago my committee's enquiry address was picked up by a spammer in America? - well, most of the emails we get are (allegedly) from American companies or for American consumers (Pet Food Coupons, Costco voucher!!, Walmart bargains! Cheap Canadian meds!!!! - usually they have lots of !!!!'s & often very pretty moving emoticons!!!!) I do get an occasional giggle when we're offered Beautiful Russian girls, or Sexy Christian Singles, or told that "I think I seen your partner on a dating site" & offered a video ... the list goes on sandra |

Subject: RE: BS: If Big Data is so smart... From: GUEST,DrW Date: 08 Mar 16 - 05:18 PM I had a wee chuckle when, after ignoring click-bait "women in your area" it started pushing "men in your area" … quite pathetic, really. cheers d |
Subject: RE: BS: If Big Data is so smart... From: Steve Shaw Date: 08 Mar 16 - 05:37 PM TripAdvisor is absolutely convinced that I live in Bournemouth, a hundred miles from Bude. They keep sending me a list of places in Bournemouth they'd like me to add to my roster of reviews. Well I've never been to Bournemouth. I have no connections there and there is absolutely nothing to link me to the place. But resistance is useless. I've tried so many times to "change my location" on their website, to no avail. The "fact" that I'm "one of the most popular reviewers in Bournemouth" is an endless source of amusement in our house. |
