My highest recommendation goes to Ken Burns, The National Parks: America at its best. 1st episode.

I have not seen part 2 or 3 yet.

The suspense, wild beauty and elegance of 19th century writers bring to life the monuments of majestic and spiritual glory people have found at Yellowstone and Yosemite Parks.

The monetary value of my highest recommendation is ~ 25 cents.

I would love to see that.

Tonight, the BBC reported the outcome of the Hillsborough inquest sensitively and beautifully. I love telly dramas, documentaries and comedies, but tonight was the Beeb at its very best. Tears flowed, and not just because I'm a Liverpool fan.

We even heard about that court case on the evening public radio news here (though they had to give a lot of background to the story for US listeners).

Ken Burns is a great documentarian on a lot of subjects. The National Park series is a nice overview, but not incredibly in-depth (as viewed by a former NPS ranger).

Burn's recent "Jackie Robinson" ranks up there with his best documentaries, IMO.
"The National Parks" was also quite good.
