Just saw an interview with one of the show's lead actors.

Tony Shalhoub won multiple awards for his cable-network show "Monk." I did not watch many seasons of that show, but when I saw an episode, I admired his work.
Shalhoub remarks that, although the title character of that earlier show and his character in the CBS show are very different roles, they have one thing in common: both are equally demanding in the balance of drama and comedy, you have to do both genres well to do justice to such roles. He also commented on how curious it is to have a show like this debuting when real life presidential campaigns are so extreme as to challenge a fictional TV program premise.

I had hoped it would be mostly comedy but they played up the horror element to the max. One scene was identical to one of my pre cog nightmares. There is room for super spoofs once the premise is now set.

yuck....I'm so squeamish about horror....just as well I don't have television to watch.

Donuel. Thanks for making me aware of this. I recorded it but haven't watched it yet. It can't be as horrifying as the flying heads in "Game Of Thrones". Mike

Beside the horror element it is about pathological partisanship caused by a galactic comet harboring space bugs. The same recovered exploded comet that landed in Russia two years ago. Plot fail, It should have landed during the Gingrich 104th Congress.

My My, don't know what to think yet. Very well done, a little "Wrath of Khan" ear assault, a little "Body Snatchers", a little"Dr. Strangelove" I will watch, at least for now. Mike
