I recently had a Brussels Sprouts revelation. Sweet, not soggy, sprouts in under five minutes. I thought I'd share.

Chop off the stem and remove enough leaves to get a clean looking sprout. Make two cuts, at 90 degrees, in the base that go halfway through the sprout.

Place in a lidded microwaveable dish with just a dash of water, say two tablespoons full.

Microwave for 3 minutes and try one.

The time might vary with the amount of sprouts in the dish. If they are underdone try another minute.

So much nicer than boiling.
