I just remember him as being extremely funny but it seems he was much more than that.

Any time I heard he'd be on a program, I made sure to watch it. He was very good at what he did - and how he managed to do it.

He was a hero of mine. He cast experts in the correct light.
I had his albums. He did a docu movie in 2015.

The obit in today's NY Times has a great photo of him as I remember him (c. 1966). Nice article, too.

His passing escaped my notice until a couple of weeks ago. He was a talented comic and a serious lefty.
