Does anyone else remember this song from the 1940s or 50s? I tried googling it but ... nothing! I can only remember the chorus (?)
"I'll wear a kilt and look so bold, I'll even kiss you with a cold. I'll be a Scotsman for you." It isn't a folk song, possibly Music Hall, possibly American. I sang the line to my husband (a real Scot!) who knows practically every song ever written and he gaped as though I'd gone mad. HELP!

2. I doubt this is correct, but I couldn't come up with anything better, so I left it as you quoted it.

Obviously some English guy trying to cash in the popularity of Harry Lauder. Jam was made almost exclusively in DUNDEE, not Aberdeen. It's terrible...

I was reminiscing about this song as my family used to sing it when I was little. Very similar, but they sang ' I'd wear a kilt and look so bold and half kill myself with the cold...I'd sit on a thistle for you. Also......You're a naughty little.....oh I didn't say it. Very similar. Think it was a music hall song. Thanks for reminding me about it.
