Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Donuel Date: 27 Nov 17 - 03:14 PM Only that a letter is headed his way. Starting over from rubble is tough for folks in their seventies. Two years without electricity is not a cynical guess. It is most probable. |

Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Donuel Date: 23 Jan 18 - 12:17 PM As robomatic says you don't have to wind me up, I'm self winding. I suspect he doesn't have family in PR as I do. Research for yourself. It won't be the poor who buy back their Island for pennies on the dollar. |

Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Donuel Date: 24 Jan 18 - 12:16 PM IT NOW BEGINS The 3 month moratorium on mortgages ends today. Now everyone must pay their mortgage. Foreclosures, short sales, defaults, abandonment, stand offs, suicides are all to follow. The pennies on the dollar sale is here. Come and get it. |
Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Greg F. Date: 24 Jan 18 - 12:48 PM How much property is the Trump organization and its subsidiaries purchasing, Don? |
Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Donuel Date: 24 Jan 18 - 03:54 PM As in chess I only speculate on the next most likely moves. I try not to consult my ego but my unconscious guess is that another 20% of the Island will be extorted, exploited and swallowed by the casino class. Developers could sell resort stays to former Puerto Ricans. Enjoy 'Sand Won' casinos |
Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Kenny B (inactive) Date: 24 Jan 18 - 04:12 PM Will the first "Hotel" be the "Trunmp Bastille" so that it can be stormed and martial law declared? Just a thought |
Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: leeneia Date: 26 Jan 18 - 12:33 PM This article in the Guardian sounds silly at first, but it has useful and current information: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/jan/24/puerto-rico-hurricane-maria-hairstyles If you really care, give money to Lutheran World Relief, a branch of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. (the liberal Lutherans). Specify that you want to help Puerto Rico. |
Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: ChanteyLass Date: 27 Jan 18 - 09:38 PM A group of lineman left Lexington, Kentucky, yesterday to work in Puerto Rico. The husband of a first cousin once removed is one of them. I'm glad they are going now but wish they'd been sent sooner. This article is more general and not specifically about the group from Lexington, but my young cousin put a video or her husband and the others workers in line for security checks at the airport. https://www.wtvq.com/2017/12/26/ku-lge-crews-help-restore-power-puerto-rico/ |

Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Jack Campin Date: 29 May 18 - 04:18 PM Seems like a really appalling disaster has been left unreported. death toll 75 times higher than previous estimates |
Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: keberoxu Date: 29 May 18 - 08:34 PM Of course it's appalling -- tragic -- but, regarding the reporting and coverage, who is surprised? If I sound jaded, I'm sorry. I guess I have never gotten over the utter shame of what happened after Hurricane Katrina. |
Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Stilly River Sage Date: 30 May 18 - 12:14 AM Trump went to Puerto Rico and threw paper towels at people. Bush thanked Brownie for doing a great job. Both were awful, but you'd think in this day and age the current administration would learn from mistakes of the past. If it isn't about Trump, he doesn't want to hear about it. He doesn't have a golf course there, so fuck 'em. And the expensive shipping rules are back in place. It's a nasty piece of work. |
Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Donuel Date: 30 May 18 - 07:30 AM By the rules of trump racism there are some US citizens who are treated less than citizens and punished to the point of covering up their deaths which is tantamount to murder. You can add Steve Siddens to the 4,600, born in Indiana and died in PR The Navy veteran radioman died without power after 9 months or a single visit from FEMA |

Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: keberoxu Date: 05 Jul 18 - 09:36 AM In my present home state of Massachusetts, the displaced families from Puerto Rico are not having an easy time of it. Massachusetts has done much to help them, and yet it is neither simple nor easy. There are laws in place which limit the aid they can receive, and homelessness threatens many of these families. The US Congress members from Massachusetts are in their corner; however there are still many obstacles in their way. This has been an especially emotional time for families whose children are seniors in high school. Some of them have graduated, after much support and hard work; others floundered and dropped out, overwhelmed by the challenges. |
Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Jack Campin Date: 07 Aug 18 - 07:19 AM Death toll report from Penn State study You can bet this year's disasters, wherever they happen, will play out the same way. |
Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Donuel Date: 07 Aug 18 - 02:19 PM Yup Steve was my brother. Owing to Maria and his responsibilities to his Downs syndrome daughter, old age and being last in line, he died months after the storm. |
