Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Kenny B (inactive) Date: 16 Oct 17 - 02:42 PM I thought this was appropriate Trump "Confounds the Science" song Its followed by a similar parody of the "Boxer" |

Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Donuel Date: 14 Oct 17 - 04:19 AM Ever notice how some people miss the point all their life. While POTUS condemns and castigates the people of PR he has no concept of, live by what I call Island time. PR is the tropics. People move not by clock but rather by today or tomorrow. It is a more natural state of being most of us will never enjoy. It is also weakened by Dengue' Fever, Malaria, STDs and Zika. Sounds grim but Even San Diego has epidemics like Hep A Hurricane deaths are few but disease is what will decimate the living in as little as two seasons. I can only imagine that if Karma exists , Donald is a secret carrier of a PR virus injected by a now nauseated mosquito and the white house may soon become ground zero in return for the crass treatment and shoddy policy aimed at PR. |

Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Donuel Date: 12 Oct 17 - 07:21 AM FEMA is an emergency response agency under the control of Homeland Security HLS. One problem is that no one is now in charge of HLS until Trump appoints someone to be director of Homeland Security. General Kelly now Chief of Staff was director of HLS but he is now in the White House desperately trying to contain The Donald. It seems to me no one is in charge of the White House either. |
Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: meself Date: 11 Oct 17 - 08:40 PM "is now privatized" - That's what I was afraid of - more 'Shock Doctrine' disaster capitalism. |
Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Jack Campin Date: 11 Oct 17 - 07:37 PM And an alternative, represented by a Puerto Rican I only just heard of. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luisa_Capetillo |
Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Donuel Date: 11 Oct 17 - 09:18 AM The air port in PR is now privatized. There is privatization going on everywhere in PR as the process of what the Mafia hoped to do to Cuba as seen in The Godfather but Wall street crooks are the mob today. The electric grid will be privatized right AFTER it is restored with FEMA money. The privatization financers started this process back in 2012. PR never got bailout after the 2008 collapse , they just had a fatal 30 year debt assembled by hedge fund investors. This is all seemingly complex corruption so I am writing this in terms we can understand. A PR diaspora will leave real estate deals for pennies on the dollar. We will hear the real whispers by financiers into Trumps ear regarding the real plans for Puerto Rico if we only listen. |
Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: EBarnacle Date: 10 Oct 17 - 05:29 PM Why can others help out quickly when our own government is quibbling about how little to spend. "A billion here, a billion there--soon we'll be talking about real money." https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2017/10/2/1703392/-Germany-steps-up-to-help-rebuild-power-grid-in-Puerto-Rico-s-emergency-relie |
Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Stilly River Sage Date: 09 Oct 17 - 06:37 PM They lifted it for 10 days, is what the news said when it was lifted. Overseer Trump wants his rich friends to go back to gouging the island residents on all of their purchases and the cost of delivering supplies. |
Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Kenny B (inactive) Date: 09 Oct 17 - 04:42 PM Is it correct that the Jones act has been reinstated at the request of the ship owner/operators leaving international humanitarian aid to PR having to be shipped thro US ports on US owned ships? |
Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Vashta Nerada Date: 09 Oct 17 - 01:23 PM Drumph doesn't want to hear about Puerto Rico. And FEMA "filtered out" any posts about (and from) the Mayor of San Juan, PR. Politico article |
Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Donuel Date: 09 Oct 17 - 11:54 AM Last week NBC drove the PR highway 130 miles into the highlands all on camera. The road was perfectly clear. Residents asked if NBC was FEMA. It has all been a lie that blocked roads prevents delivery of water and food. Republican Congressmen are now declaring that aid to PR should be limited to 3 Billion and not seven which is way too much. They are now saying PR wants Xtra relief which is not the case. |
Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Donuel Date: 06 Oct 17 - 03:36 PM Ole' I only have the experience of Puerto Ricans being a fun loving people like Jamaicans but being American. Is West Side story too old to remember for folks here? |
Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Donuel Date: 05 Oct 17 - 09:00 AM The Red Cross collected 350 million dollars for Hurricane Harvey relief. The Red Cross collected 9 million for Puerto Rico. Perhaps changing the name of Puerto Rico would help their despair. Trump Island. |
Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Donuel Date: 30 Sep 17 - 05:59 PM I put 'marks' around immigration. You are right that they are no more immigrants than Katrina victims were refugees. I left my brain at the door when I put on Donald's shoes. If Trump ever looked inside a body he would know there is no black and white, the brain is remarkably grey. |
Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Stilly River Sage Date: 30 Sep 17 - 04:47 PM Immigration for a million people? They're U.S. citizens, they don't need to immigrate. |
Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Donuel Date: 30 Sep 17 - 03:48 PM is that crickets - no its oddly quiet - that is singing If there is no word by Thanksgiving, I'll go looking. |
Subject: RE: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Donuel Date: 30 Sep 17 - 11:47 AM If you leave your brain by the door and slip into Donald's shoes imagine the horror, anguish and frustration of having to allow people with little capital, less than white skin, Spanish speaking people into the US without a ban. Then getting slapped by a mayor who snuffs his 'fantastic recovery' story. Ouch. Lt General Russell Honore' ret. of Katrina mobilization fame had the best organized recommendations I have heard; free tank of gas, Verizon mobile phone towers and allow "immigration" for up to a million people , then get to work on power water hospitals and finally homes. |
Subject: BS: Puerto Rico last in line From: Donuel Date: 30 Sep 17 - 08:14 AM 3.2 million peopled are characterized as people who do not pay their debts. "The Mayor of San Juan, who was very complimentary only a few days ago, has now been told by the Democrats that you must be nasty to Trump," he wrote. San Juan mayor calls Puerto Rico crisis 'something close to genocide' There are no comparisons that should be made to Texas or Florida. Donald Trump says Puerto Rico is 'an island surrounded by big water' San Juan Mayor slams US officials over response to Maria relief effort "Such poor leadership ability by the Mayor of San Juan, and others in Puerto Rico, who are not able to get their workers to help. "They want everything to be done for them when it should be a community effort. 10,000 Federal workers now on Island doing a fantastic job." Mr Trump has defended his administration's response to the recent hurricane in Puerto Rico by explaining that the island is "surrounded by water". He added that local governments had been "totally and unfortunately unable to handle this catastrophic crisis on their own – just totally unable to." What media has not reported are the 8 police officers killed so far. Throwing mud at Trump or the mayor or the San Juan mayor does nothing but make things worse. The veneer of civilization is thinner than we think. If there has been a deliberate delay in aiding PR I do not know of it. The dangerous time for any devastated community is week 6 +. That is when the weakest die and the savage nature of man is exposed. Having Bangladesh like disasters in the US has been shocking but inevitable. In the back of my brain I fear the racist hubris of my President is costing lives. |
