Subject: Alvin Queen vs. Homeland Security From: Jack Campin Date: 13 Oct 17 - 09:43 AM If you thought American xenophobic paranoia couldn't go any lower... http://www.prweb.com/releases/2017/10/prweb14775926.htm And look at the event he was trying to get to! You can see why African-Americans like Josephine Baker and Langston Hughes were so glad to get the hell out. |
Subject: RE: BS: Alvin Queen vs. Homeland Security From: Donuel Date: 13 Oct 17 - 05:54 PM Blacks who are owned by the NFL now have to stand at attention to the anthem and to trump by presidential order to NFL Commissioner Godell. It seems only fair that blacks born in the US should be denied entry for work. Its like hiring foreigners. And Swiss no less. I've heard of Swiss Dark Chocolate but never Swiss blacks. Haven't you heard, there is a new air of fairness. There is talk of finally denying treatment at Hospitals for those who are not likely to pay. And you know who those people are. |
Subject: RE: BS: Alvin Queen vs. Homeland Security From: meself Date: 13 Oct 17 - 06:17 PM Ridiculous, of course. "A one-time DWI charge and a minor drug offense both resulted in not guilty charges." Hard to know what that means - a trial and a verdict, charges dropped, or what. Not that it matters. |
Subject: RE: BS: Alvin Queen vs. Homeland Security From: Stilly River Sage Date: 13 Oct 17 - 06:40 PM This is the regressive Trump administration in action. And his bigottry is obvious when you look at who is excluded and who he wants to wall out. The pressure on football players that Trump is exerting is another way he is breaking the law - first one fired is going to be able to claim that Trump interfered with personnel matters by exerting undue influence. Queen is a US citizen without a US passport. This will certainly blow up in the current administration's face. |
Subject: RE: BS: Alvin Queen vs. Homeland Security From: Donuel Date: 14 Oct 17 - 10:02 AM Paul Robson was a US citizen with a passport and was denied exit from the US. As for the trumped up attack on black NFL players it is a drop of non violent protest compared to the ocean of non violent protest in what Ghandi did in India and MLK in America. The right tries to redefine black lives matter protest into disrespecting the country, the troops, their family wives and flag... and Toto too! The commissioner of football does not buy into the trump attack and will not make owners comply to trump. ..................................... Hey look at this, The New York Times has ordering their employees into a code of behavior at home- In social media posts, our journalists must not express partisan opinions, promote political views, endorse candidates make offensive comments or do anything else that undercuts The Time's journalistic reputation. This kind of policy used to apply just to speech for members of Reuters and other news services. |
Subject: RE: BS: Alvin Queen vs. Homeland Security From: Stilly River Sage Date: 14 Oct 17 - 10:37 AM Each reporter is a brand (of their own) and they work for a much larger brand. Lots of accounts have burned their brands in their desire to see Trump out of the White House, to no avail so far. It's a tough call. Certainly each party needs a nom de plume and to note that these opinions are their own and not those of the company. Free speech and all of that. |
Subject: RE: BS: Alvin Queen vs. Homeland Security From: Donuel Date: 14 Oct 17 - 11:47 AM API would not want an employee making a claim in API's name on social media. nor would the NYT. I do not know the details of a social media contract with NYT employees or the rules of enforcement. |
