I find the expression "a shout out to" really irritating. I suppose it's because a person who has helped out deserves more than to be shouted at, presumably with as few grateful words as possible.

Other contenders were alternative facts, fake news, collusion, nothing burger, normalize, antifa, resistence, persisterhood, dotard, reclaiming my time, taking a knee and covfefe.

In a story competition for British children the word trump was most innovative with boggle trump snoozle trump and trumplstiltskin.

Politics is now popular culture but I feel rocket man belongs to David Bowie..
