Subject: RE: Freshman Guitars From: Big Al Whittle Date: 22 Dec 17 - 06:43 PM I just gave my Freshman Open Plains to my grand niece for Christmas. I bought it cos I fell in love with the neck - I found I could do a slide I was struggling with. After a few weeks I could play it on any guitar - so the love ar first feel cooled down. It was a nice enough guitar. I only made one cd, and I feel that the quality was slightly compromised because I wasn't playing a solid wood guitar. I didn't want to repeat the experience, so the Freshman got the elbow. |

Subject: RE: Freshman Guitars From: GUEST,Pete from seven stars link Date: 22 Dec 17 - 03:36 PM No , I didn't know there was a lifetime guarantee. And the shop keeper didn't ask me if I had, even though I got it there. |
Subject: RE: Freshman Guitars From: Greenie Date: 22 Dec 17 - 02:16 PM I bought one (the 'entry level' Renegade) very cheap in a charity shop and, of my 5 acoustic guitars, it's the one I now reach for first. It sounds beaufiful to my amateur's ears and is very easy to play Pete from seven stars: did you register your purchase with Freshman? According their website, it appears thefe's a lifetime guarantee. Greenie |
Subject: RE: Freshman Guitars From: GUEST,Pete from seven stars link Date: 21 Dec 17 - 07:14 PM I got one a few yrs back . At the time I tried some that were more expensive , including a tangle wood , but decided the freshman was a better sound . I was quite happy with it but awhile back the pick up stopped working and I've not got it fixed yet . More recently I got a Luna which was more expensive but I think a fuller sound |

Archie Fisher played the Bothy folk club Southport U K recently and asked the make of my guitar,he said it sounded well ( the guitar not me ) |
Subject: RE: Freshman Guitars From: GUEST Date: 20 Dec 17 - 04:06 AM Both Boo Hewerdine and Dean Friedman played Freshman guitars when they played at a Music Festival in the Scottish Borders this year - they sounded absolutely superb. |
Subject: Freshman Guitars From: GUEST,Desmond Date: 20 Dec 17 - 03:48 AM Anyone on here play a Freshman guitar? From their website, this Scottish company seems to have been going for just over 10 years. I've been offered one at a very reasonable price but (Ref Thread: How Many Guitars...Is Enough??) I'm in two minds. Worth acquiring? All opinions welcome. Des |
