I've been watching both the new series 'Gunpowder' and 'Britannia'. I recognized Kit Harington and Liv Tyler from their star vehicles (Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings), and I like the drama and of course the incredible history behind 'Gunpowder'. Has anyone seen it and formed an opinion? Meanwhile I've read some criticism of Britannia both its historicity and its dramatic quality. Likewise, any opinions?

I've watched it but I can not vouch for its historic accuracy since I am not a historian. It is a high quality drama. I feel as though it is a portrayal of an early example of personal and vengeful terrorism.
V for Vendetta is clearly a fictional parallel.

As for entertainment I would prefer watching Boston Legal.

I can't watch David Kelley Writings. It was either Boston Legal or the precursor to that where one of the partners had a pet frog, also a toilet fetish that led him to install a remote flush in one of the stalls, then it so happened the frog got loose, found its way to the loo, and by tragic coincidence was in the toilet to be flushed. That was bad enough. THEN came the frog funeral. One of his recent productions was the Steven King mini-series "Mr. Mercedes" I could watch that, maybe Kelley didn't write for it.

"Gunpowder" seems to check the boxes for the names of the conspirators and the sequence of events. "Britannia" I haven't been able to get into.

entertainment to me is low brow. ie. Monty Python. (couch potato man)

Art or documentaries are another matter. (Snobby McSnob)
