Subject: How to Edit threads for printing From: katlaughing Date: 23 Dec 99 - 11:07 PM The following was posted to the "Healing Cirlce...please" thread, which was started for healing prayers for J.U., a member of the band, Upsala. He has had a recurrence of cancer, according to the original post.
Subject: RE: Healing Circle, please --
A time to die - good call folks.
last full moon of the century and on the soltice.
To everything there is a season
A time to be born, and a time to die.
So it is appointed unto man Many times our threads are printed out and taken to the person we are wishing well, as when Catspaw was ill last spring and, as was mentioned in the thread for J.U. For those who may not know how, it is an easy thing to edit out hurtful messages like the above, by first Highlighting the ones you want to be read; then, go to Print; choose Selection; and begin printing. If the hurtful messages are in the middle of a thread, you may have to do this a couple of times. The other thing you can do is highlight all postings in the thread; go to Edit; choose Copy; then go to your WP program, open a new file, and paste the postings in there. That way you can edit out whatever you don't want in there and can tighten up the spaces, so that you also save on paper. The only alternative is to ask that such messages be deleted from threads which are specifically for healing. Thanks, katlaughing |

Subject: RE: How to Edit threads for printing From: Rick Fielding Date: 24 Dec 99 - 12:02 AM Another thing you can do is go to "View" then "Source" and find the beginning of the message you don't want to send. Click and drag until you highlight all of the message and hit the delete key. Save it to you hard drive somewhere (as an HTML file). Double-click on it and print. The only hard thing about this is figuring out where the beginning and end of the message are with all the HTML tag doohickies. Jeri, from Rick's computer |

Subject: RE: How to Edit threads for printing From: catspaw49 Date: 24 Dec 99 - 01:16 AM Geeziz that was frightening til I got to the end!!! Rick's computer skills are on par with mine (virtually non-existent) and I thought he'd had some kind of megahertz orgasm or something. Hiya Jeri!!! If the food is less than you need there, we're just down the road...uh, sorta'. Ham, scalloped taters, sweet potato souffle, green bean casserole, cole slaw, homemade caramel, 4 different desserts, and lots of cookies. Bring Heather too and Rick if you have to. Then maybe you could SHOW ME how this friggin software program works for this digital camera. Seriously Kiddo...Glad you made it safely. Wish we were all together....then we could go out and thrash the livin' shit out of Putz Boy! Spaw |

Subject: RE: How to Edit threads for printing From: bseed(charleskratz) Date: 24 Dec 99 - 02:36 AM The easy way: Highlight the whole thread, copy it to your word processor, and edit out what you need to edit out, extra spaces, repetitive stuff like post/top/forum home/translate/add thread to tracer, reply to thread, subject, etc. Just drag your cursor over them to highlight them and hit delete. Then print from your wordprocessor. You can change fonts, size, format (I use two column portrait format, 10 pt type), etc. |

Subject: RE: How to Edit threads for printing From: _gargoyle Date: 24 Dec 99 - 09:18 PM And we can font color=green>ADD things
This has been the point all along....reality, on the web, is as YOU percieve, modify, codify, sterilize it....and for this reason....Mr. Seed and and I share far more than "roots in 40/50/60's authors"....
The last thing the masses (who are asses) want is TRUTH, (in all its ugly bitter truthfulness) therefore, let us mold "our world" to perspectives that are "pleasing"...and in doing so...WE, Ourselves, become "creators"...EQUALS to < font color=red>God the Almighty
ANYONE that believes that they should edit out....the mortality of life....is in denial of that same absolute themselves...
Whoops, bells are calling...time to go....off to Mass.

Subject: RE: How to Edit threads for printing From: wildlone Date: 24 Dec 99 - 09:43 PM I use the 3.5 floppy to save what I want, save as text file. Edit much the same as above, then print or save the edited result. This way I have built up quite a large number of songs without taking up to much space on my hard disk. |

You can get the entire DT on five disks. |

Subject: RE: How to Edit threads for printing From: bseed(charleskratz) Date: 25 Dec 99 - 12:30 AM Everything has its own time, Gargoyle. We will all die; we all know that. We also know that people manage, with care and love, to survive beyond what may seem to them or to others their time to die, and even those whose death cannot be postponed can enjoy a gentler passage if surrounded by love. You, however, remind me of the citizens of Paris who cheered and jeered as the condemned rode the tumbrils to the guillotine: For someone who claims to be a Christian you are sadly lacking in compassion--from you I hear the clanging cymbal of St. Paul's description of one endowed with faith and hope, but lacking in charity. Please take your Mme. Defarge act onto another stage--and never NEVER think that I share your desire to heap pain upon pain. --seed |

Subject: RE: How to Edit threads for printing From: Jon Freeman Date: 25 Dec 99 - 03:00 AM Oh well seed, you have finally hit one of my nerve ends re GG. I am a Christian but I detest the callous attitudes that some who claim to be have, and, because of their claims, tend to get us all branded as hypocrites... GG, In the NT, it is said that everything revolves around 2 commandments. If you want to call yourself a Christian, please remember to love thy neighbour... Jon |
