I did a good deed for a religious man from Nepal. Now things are randomly going my way. Superstition? Absolutely. But I am willing to repeat any such good deeds more than I normally would. Empathy has a self sustaining bright side that 'getting even' will never have.

Pass on any good deeds that come your way and commit to any you receive.

Afterall tis the season, start early.

That's just it, I didn't give anything. I'm not bragging, and still saved his job and more.

I didn't expect negative comments but they were my previous experience.
This Matthew should have gone through my conversion and he might not have become such a Debbie Downer.

The rewards are big and tiny all month long. I hope I don't botch it by buying a lottery ticket.

I think it's lovely that you helped someone Donuel. And the good feeling you received is lovely too.

If I'm in a rather sad mood, I find little tiny 'good deeds' lift my spirits no end. My husband is like this too. He springs forward to help elderly frail folk at the supermarket wheel their trolley to their car and to load the bags into the boot for them. He adores helping old people.

We bought a hot cup of coffee for a Big issue seller last winter, just a small gesture but she looked so cold. It's strange, but it made us so happy just to think of her warming her hands up on the cup. Lots of folk do this and it's natural.

And people in our village are extremely kind. They come trooping to our door with stuff (T shirts, towels, sheets, jeans etc) for my husband's family when he's due to travel home for a visit.

Imagine a world where none of these things ever happened. Grim.

When I was struggling with a bad hip, a woman decided to do her 'good deed' and offered to carry my shopping bags to my car. When I explained that I had no car and was going to walk home, she and her goodwill suddenly disappeared.

Senofou I think its grand you call your area a village.

If you don't look for the mini miracles of life you won't see them, random or not. Most of the changed outcomes will be invisible to you anyway because of time and distance.

In a universe of entropy it is nice to see some positive changes.

Well most of Norfolk UK is made up of small villages Donuel. It's a rural kind of region, and in the Middle Ages in each settlement there would have been a Manor House where the Squire lived (our village has one) and he owned three or four farms (three in ours). The farm workers lived in cottages (our village has those too) and there is always a Norman church (we've got one of those, built in the 12th Century) There was a Vicarage for the Minister (yes) and a little school from Victorian times (yes)

Each village has a fairly small population and a lovely community spirit. Most people know everyone who lives here, and we all watch over each other.
I don't think I could bear to live in a large city now. I adore village life.

My theory is that in doing a good deed your own spirits are lifted.

When your own spirits are lifted you see the world in a better light.

When you see the world in a better light you see the "good luck" that you receive every day of your life but might otherwise not notice.
