Subject: Review: Blind Lemon Pledge From: Joe Offer Date: 05 Feb 19 - 12:01 AM Occasionally, I hear things about a blues performer using the name of "Blind Lemon Pledge," who appears to be from the San Francisco Bay Area, who apparently likes to name songs after women. Anybody know anything about him? Here are some recordings:
"Lemon Pledge" is a furniture polish made Johnson's Wax in the Waxdale area of my home town, Racine, Wisconsin. I doubt that Blind Lemon Pledge has any connection with the product, with me, or with my home town. This performer does seem to have a strong dose of the delightful wackiness of certain people in the San Francisco Folk Music Club, people like Peter Krug and Holly Tannen and Sadie Damascus and Redmond O'Colonies. So, does anybody know anything about Blind Lemon Pledge? -Joe- |
