Subject: Tech: Help - mudcat broken in PC Chrome browse From: GUEST,punkfolkrocker Date: 09 Feb 19 - 12:21 PM I was typing a new post in the message box of a thread, and must have accidentally pressed some keys which opened a full page code pop-up overlay. So I pressed back and or refresh. Since then the message box has completely disappeared from every thread I open. I've tried refreshing pages, logging out and back in again, and closing and reopening Chrome several times. Flushed all cookies, even rebooted PC. Nothing has worked to fix it so far ??? I suspect I probably need to perform some kind of code script, which is beyond my expertise...??? Help would be very much appreciated, thanks... Btw.. before anybody gets to overjoyed that I can't post anymore, I've still got phones, tablets, and other computers. |

Subject: RE: Tech: Help - mudcat broken in PC Chrome browse From: punkfolkrocker Date: 09 Feb 19 - 12:58 PM Just remembered I have Firefox installed on this same PC. The message box is right where it should be... So is there something I can do here in Firefox that might get it working again in Chrome...??? cheers mates... |

Subject: RE: Tech: Help - mudcat broken in PC Chrome browse From: Jon Freeman Date: 09 Feb 19 - 01:44 PM Drastic pfr but assuming Windows later than XP, you could try deleting (or safer renaming so you could restore) C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Preferences I'd guess that would give you a clean start. I've no idea as to what to try for a more specific fix. |

Subject: RE: Tech: Help - mudcat broken in PC Chrome browse From: Mr Red Date: 09 Feb 19 - 02:02 PM Chrome is a law unto itself. I write very swish pages to run on an Android Phone (local - no internet) and things I can do in Firefox just don't work in Chrome. Yet similar things over the internet (like IFRAMES) are faultless. Chrome (PC) only gets used for 2 things, BT TV (since they are in bed with Goggle) and Goggle translate. It is a case of the oligopoly acting like a monopoly. Was it ever thus? |

Subject: RE: Tech: Help - mudcat broken in PC Chrome browse From: DaveRo Date: 09 Feb 19 - 03:19 PM Clear the browser cache. If you have an ad-blocking browser extension, turn it off. If Chrome has a 'disable all extensions' mode, do that. Use Firefox. |

Subject: RE: Tech: Help - mudcat broken in PC Chrome browse From: Mr Red Date: 10 Feb 19 - 05:28 AM FWIW I still have a copy of FF 34, (and IE11 and Opera 28 and even Safari 5). Because the debugger works in FF34. In FF59 the debugger has some annoying and, at times, show stopping habits. Now: you could look at your history and see the URLs of those important pages, copy and paste to Notepad (eg) and save. Then switch off and on, and start again with the URLs you saved. And use FireFox. Chrome, along with Goggle generally, does not like FRAMES because GoGGle find it hard to interrogate inside them and they want to know everything about you (anonymised of course). (yea yea FF34 is old, but webmeisters can't know what people are using out there, so we have to check as many options as we can, or loose a few audience) |

Built into Firefox - but I think you can use it with Chrome if you must. |
