Better known as "The Robbers Retreat" or "The Cadgwith Anthem". A great chorus but it seems to have fallen out of favour at the clubs that I frequent.

(This being Mudcat somebody will now tell me that I am wrong about it falling out of favour because Old Fred, 200 miles away from me, insists on singing it every Friday night)

I seem to remember a hugely long thread about this some years back, with lots of esoteric debate about what it all means, with no conclusive results.
When I have seen it done it recent times it has been taken much less than seriously and totally "hammed up" by the singers, with lots of melodramatic actions and high descant in the chorus, much to everyone's amusement, if not entirely faithful to the song!

So, is the tune the same as "Beautiful Brown Eyes" - or is the Digital Tradition misleading me?

That's not the tune, Joe. It should be BEAUKSHM, but that one seems to have disappeared.

Kashmir. It's a flower that comes from there. That's speculation, but I don't see how it could be anything else. See Cadgwith Anthem - what's that flower?
