Subject: BS: USA Political Candidates From: Ebbie Date: 12 Mar 19 - 01:22 AM Well, I don't see a thread that this fits into. If one shows up, we can merge this one into it. For the record, let me say that - at this moment - I will support Washington State Governor Jay Inslee. His priority is Climate Change. First things first; there is room for everything else in there. If we don't get a serious fix on the climate, there isn't much use in working on the other things. Ideally- again, at this moment - I would like an Inslee/Kamala Harris ticket. Not likely to happen because they are both West Coast candidates but a person can dream. |

Subject: RE: BS: USA Political Candidates From: robomatic Date: 12 Mar 19 - 06:07 PM Realistically: Biden/ Gore The younger newer Dems are mostly carrying water for Donald Trump in cheap intemperate tweets. Pelosi is wise and talks well but is not charismatic and working with the new young folks is like herding cats. The tweets and cheap foul language talk about impeachment works against the Dems. Pelosi knows that but can she control it. Bernie is not a Democrat and it isn't clear how being a Socialist will work when all a Replicant has to do is say Hey look at Venezuela. As for the Replicants, little Mario has the most appearance of being a reasonable guy among the lot of losers that ran against the Trumpster. And the Trumpster has that perceived basket of Deplorables at his base. Plus a brand of teflon armor not seen since Achilles. Plus his pals Vlad and Kim. It ain't pretty |
Subject: RE: BS: USA Political Candidates From: Ebbie Date: 13 Mar 19 - 12:48 PM I like both Biden and Gore, but face it, they are in their 70s and are both previously failed presidential candidates. Word is that people are looking for new faces, new ideas, new administrations. Jay Inslee is 62 years old, well seasoned in the political world, having served as US Representative twice, the governor of an active state and with a clear set of objectives from way back: climate change, education and drug policies. |
Subject: RE: BS: USA Political Candidates From: Mrrzy Date: 13 Mar 19 - 01:00 PM Arg. I will vote for the candidate. Hope I don't have to hold my nose to do it like last time... |
Subject: RE: BS: USA Political Candidates From: keberoxu Date: 03 Sep 20 - 11:32 AM Keep an eye on incumbent Senator Ed Markey, who just won the Democratic nomination in the Massachusetts state primary. He defeated a Kennedy to do it, but that's beside the point. Ed Markey is 74 years young, and candidates half his age could learn something from him. Ed Markey's Victory Speech |
