More significant than the Higgs Boson

And like the Higgs, it may take 50 years to prove it exists, assuming the theory holds.

It could explain 5 long standing problems, like Dark Energy, why Quarks differ so widely in mass, the Strong CP Problem, Sudden Inflation of the Universe, and the surprising lightness of the Higgs.

Being sought in a building dubbed 911 in Cern. Proposed/championed by a guy called Florian Goertz et al.

Well Donuel - what is your take on this little devil?

axiflavon

I like Stanford but love Cornell. You know I have been saying the mass of dark matter came as the result of the annhilation of matter and antimatter.

I don't know how axion flavors will effect the standard model yet.
I do know that changing neutrino flavours are being studied.
I have been betting that more bosons are out there, maybe many more. These 'techinicolor' forms are not detectable yet.

I like new ideas. They make a good target to shoot down.

Go back far enough and we can see super massive black holes in the earliest generations of stars. However there was not enough time for them to develope so it is believed those super massive black hole were made of dark matter. They were low in temperature. We don't tend to see them in our time.

OR

The universe has a backward time component that made super massive black holes at the end of the universe - appear at the beggining.
Kind off a time-anti time problem.

Axiflavon sounds like an anti flatulence medicine.

Neither it’s multi dimensional to 10 to the 200 th power from my calculations what you are seeing is a single dimensional state of intersection

Thats a double google.
Yep Mr. Red found something new in the idea dept.

The standard model is standard because it has a complete understanding.
Once we start combining invisible dark matter with the standard model we are in the dark. We just can't easily prove or devise experiments for what we don't know. We can predict but once we can falsify the idea we will know enough to try a different best guess.

I like BIG best guesses however the tiniest guess about a one dimensional bit of nothing with an invisible mass does seem to lend itself to the holographic model. It has taken me a decade to buy into the holgraphic universe in my mind's eye.
Thinking of gravity and space time emerging as a by-product/interaction result from a foundation/parallel Brane universe , was quick and easy in comparison.

All I know now is that I am craving a ham sandwich. damn

Axions; a speculation for dark matter.

Anaximander: on Nature (olde knowledge) All things orignate from one another and vanish into one another according to the nessesities of time

Doesitmatter: Not for a fun weekend.

There is plenty of speculation about the humungous volume of data that the LHC produces and is thrown away. The data that are collected go into numbers that no brain can handle.

So the thinking at the peripheries is
1) that the unused data could reveal something.
2) there are second (etc) order interactions that are revealed only by the debris in the data.
3) you only see what you are looking for (hence the unused data).
4) and new pet theories that focus on specific data (as per 3).

Let's see what pops out in the next 50 years - but send me a message from the future, 'cause I don't think I am gonna make it that far.

DDD

Data Dumpster Diving
I love it.

This also happened at the Human Genome Project.
At first they called it Junk DNA.
Now its exogenetic material and switches for Genes that may never be used in a lifeiime.

did I say exo? OK extraterrestrial genetic material, exi. epi and exwife genetic material for all I know.

Ya know, since humans do have some feline DNA why not dog DNA?
or do dogs have some human dna?

I'm not the know it all or perfect speller you are looking for.
Now release the shackles and leave the room.

I'm not a jedi knight, I just play one on the inter force.

Fundamental laws, forces and principles interest me. I'm not educated well enough to digest all the details in a grand gestalt. Cosmology is rarely wonderful, it just makes me wonder. Some occaisional dopamine is the honest payoff from exploration.

Learning about the great equations and the personalities behind them keep my feet on the ground lately. I believe Ken Keysey when he said "Sometimes a great notion".
Having seen and heard some 'impossible' things is a great motivator.
They entice me to search for an explanation. There are no promises but the possible lives on.
