In view of the feedback, and also bearing in mind the topicality of the song I will attempt to record it for the new album. I'm still hoping that by the time the new album is available to the wide world of listeners we'll have somehow achieved saner governments on both sides of the Atlantic, but that is just me being an insane optimist. So - just one more recording session, and then it's down to mixing and mastering, and possibly making some tough decisions about leaving stuff off the physical album (but keeping them available digitally). More announcements in due course!

I think the connection to the Windborne Singers was the mutual interest in Occitan, although that connection isn't evident from this thread! Thank you for the appreciative comments, all of you.

Yes, Chantey Lass, Windborne Singers are brilliant, I discovered them a couple of years go. But I can't see any connection with the subject of this thread, so maybe Joe you could split it and give them a separate thread of their own?

I went to a house concert in Providence on Thursday to hear Windborne, a quartet that sings lovely harmonies. Most songs were in English, but several were in other languages, including Occitan.

Friends will know that I never normally do this - but I have a new song, which has been prompted by "Good Omens", "Lucifer" and "Rocketman" as well as other people and events which will be clear from the song. It's not a totally finished piece of crafted art yet, but I'd quite like it to travel around a bit so if you agree with it, please pass it on. It's called Small Ways to Fight the Devil
