Subject: Reuters: photojournalist feature From: keberoxu Date: 09 Aug 19 - 04:40 PM On another thread, fellow Mudcat members were remarking that the bad old days of fascism are back in force. Reuters' photojournalist essay seems to bear this out. White Nationalist normalization, Reuters/'Wider Image' |
Subject: RE: BS: Reuters: white nationalists in US From: Mrrzy Date: 09 Aug 19 - 05:03 PM And yet there is a lot of crap in that article, like saying this was Trump's most intense calling out [I paraphrase] of white supremacy. It's his first and only. Full disclosure, I live in Charlottesville. Second anniversary this weekend. Saying "fine people" is not calling out. |
Subject: RE: BS: Reuters: white nationalists in US From: Mossback Date: 09 Aug 19 - 05:59 PM Actually, the Reuters article is MOSTLY crap- another apologist news source trying to normalize Trump's racist fascism. Trump IS "calling out" white supremacists - he's calling 'em out to commit atrocities like El Paso and posing grinning with the orphan of parents the white supremacists he encouraged murdered. There hasn't been a piece of shit like this on the world stage since 1942. HEIL TRUMP! |

Subject: RE: BS: Reuters: white nationalists in US From: Jim Carroll Date: 10 Aug 19 - 02:40 AM " El Paso and posing grinning with the orphan of parents " I was heartened to read that he was told he wasn't welcome at the funerals I hoe that was a general attitude to this PIECE OF DETRITUS Maybe there's hope for them over there yet Jim Carroll |
Subject: RE: BS: Reuters: white nationalists in US From: WalkaboutsVerse Date: 10 Aug 19 - 01:58 PM The USA should be run by a Council of Native Americans & those who don't like it can repatriate to Europe, Africa, etc. The Trump family, e.g., may choose Scotland or Slovenia; my poem, from WalkaboutsVerse, on "Repatriating - Australia to England" |
Subject: RE: BS: Reuters: white nationalists in US From: bobad Date: 11 Aug 19 - 10:55 AM Here's all the US hate groups. I'd be somewhat skeptical as to what the SPLC labels a "hate group". After years of smearing good people with false charges of bigotry, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has finally been held to account. A former Islamic radical named Maajid Nawaz sued the center for including him in its bogus “Field Guide to Anti-Muslim Extremists,” and this week the SPLC agreed to pay him a $3.375 million settlement and issued a public apology. The SPLC is a once-storied organization that did important work filing civil rights lawsuits against the Ku Klux Klan in the 1970s. But it has become a caricature of itself, labeling virtually anyone who does not fall in line with its left-wing ideology an “extremist” or “hate group.” The Washington Post |
