Subject: RE: BS: Where’s wysiwyg? From: keberoxu Date: 01 Jul 20 - 05:26 PM Surely Hardiman the Fiddler and Wysiwyg know the saying: "God makes a way out of no way." Very true in this case. God keep you both AND more power to your elbows. |
Subject: RE: BS: Where’s wysiwyg? From: Steve Shaw Date: 01 Jul 20 - 05:57 PM And many of us here who wish Susan well don't do God. You could consider keeping that to yourself. |
Subject: RE: BS: Where’s wysiwyg? From: John MacKenzie Date: 02 Jul 20 - 05:28 AM I don't do the God thing either Steve, but that don't mean others can't in the King James Version of the bible it says "And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity." I have read the Bible, but as I said, I don't do God, however that quote is a good motto to live by, no matter whether you do or don't do religion. |
Subject: RE: BS: Where’s wysiwyg? From: Helen Date: 02 Jul 20 - 05:45 AM As the comment was specifically for Hardiman the Fiddler and Wysiwyg it is irrelevant whether another person on this thread relates to the sentiment or not. A kind thought is a kind thought and should not be dismissed. It is the thought which counts. |
Subject: RE: BS: Where’s wysiwyg? From: Stilly River Sage Date: 03 Jul 20 - 04:34 PM Steve, the context here is a pastor and a pastor's spouse, so though I don't "do god" either, it should be expected those kinds of wishes will appear and be appreciated. What I wonder is if Susan is keeping track of the news. Has she managed to march (roll) through the halls yet with a Black Lives Matter banner. You know she would. |
Subject: RE: BS: Where’s wysiwyg? From: Steve Shaw Date: 03 Jul 20 - 05:39 PM Well I didn't know that. I made a quick point, I'm sticking to it and I've moved on. I've always appreciated Susan's input and I wish her well as heartily as I can muster! |

Subject: RE: BS: Where’s wysiwyg? From: Hardiman the Fiddler Date: 15 Jul 20 - 11:40 AM Susan asked me to post this text message to all at Muscat: “I read the whole thread for myself. Up to 55 messages! It was overwhelming, the number of people reading my stuff!! Thank you for all your messages and well wishes, from the bottom of my heart! -Susan” To which I add my appreciation for the Muscat community as well! Greg |

Subject: RE: BS: Where in the world is wysiwyg ? From: Donuel Date: 17 Jul 20 - 02:11 PM Susan is a strong advocate to fight for social justice on Facebook, a place that intimidates me. Her bravery is needed more than ever. |
Subject: RE: BS: Where’s wysiwyg? From: LilyFestre Date: 18 Jul 20 - 03:00 PM Hi Susan! Hi Greg! I haven't been on Mudcat for some time but was glad to see this thread as I've been thinking about Susan. I wish you continued days of success and progress. My best to you both, Michelle |

Subject: RE: Where’s wysiwyg? From: keberoxu Date: 06 Aug 21 - 04:47 PM I do hope that wysiwyg has been able to return home. |
Subject: RE: Where’s wysiwyg? From: Charmion Date: 07 Aug 21 - 07:13 PM I don’t think so, keb. Her FB posts are date-lined “Room 201”, which doesn’t sound like a normal house. |
Subject: RE: Where’s wysiwyg? From: wysiwyg Date: 22 Nov 21 - 08:11 PM I'm back. 1. Hi all, you take my breath away w your posts. I thank you, from the heart. 2. I'm still in nursing care. I'm lucky to be a bit if a late bloomer, in that Medicare qualified me for more therapy as a rest case. It *is* unusual to get function back so late. If you want periodic updates. PM me a phone number. 3. I'm just finishing copy-editing a book I wrote on my cellphone-- "How to Thrive in a Nursing Home." (It *can* actually be done!) I could use some help raising funds for self-publishing. Thing is, I can't be the payee-- on Medicaid. I don't suppose a team could form here? 4. I'll be at Mudcat only occasionally. The book is taking all my free time. Damn the typos if any! ;-) Can't type any more right now. -S- |

Subject: RE: Where’s wysiwyg? From: Susan of DT Date: 23 Nov 21 - 06:03 AM It is great to see you are more functional! I saw your postings yesterday and was delighted to see your activity. Print on Demand does not take much money at all. I sent you an email with details. If anyone else is interested, PM me. All the Loomis House/CAMSCO books are Print on Demand. |
Subject: RE: Where’s wysiwyg? From: Bill D Date: 23 Nov 21 - 09:25 AM Writing a book on a phone? I can barely find where to type on one. Good for you. |
Subject: RE: Where’s wysiwyg? From: John MacKenzie Date: 23 Nov 21 - 09:46 AM WB Wysiwyg, pleased to see you posting again, and that you are on the active list again. Writing a phone book eh? :) Go to it ! |

Subject: RE: Where’s wysiwyg? From: Sandra in Sydney Date: 23 Nov 21 - 01:43 PM as a person who still after 18 months has trouble TYPING texts on a mobile (cell) phone I can only bow down to your superior ability hugs from sandra |
Subject: RE: Where’s wysiwyg? From: wysiwyg Date: 24 Nov 21 - 09:57 AM 1. Thanks for the continued affirmation!!! 2. Susan, I haven't gotten any email at the old addy these 2 guests. Pls PM for a new one. 3. It *was* hard to read/text on my fone while I had a bad eye infection, and it's still hard typing w my non-denominant hand.:-) I have put up with typos, because to strokes also affected one eye, and this former proofreader is a stickler for correct spelling! ;-) -S- |

Subject: RE: Where’s wysiwyg? From: Stilly River Sage Date: 24 Nov 21 - 10:43 AM They make bluetooth keyboards and I have one that I sometimes connect to my phone or tablet. Might make typing easier (heaven knows even unaffected-by-stroke users have trouble with the tiny phone screen keypad.) |

Subject: RE: Where’s wysiwyg? From: wysiwyg Date: 24 Nov 21 - 05:32 PM I can share this with you periodically if you're interested. REHAB NEWS I just discovered a way to move my R arm forward in the bed! I can push it down, now. Big relief-- to have found a way to work that muscle when I'm in bed... I'm not able to convince the aides to get me into the chair more than 2-3x/week. -S- |

Subject: RE: Where’s wysiwyg? From: Stilly River Sage Date: 13 Mar 22 - 10:22 PM Susan's daughter-in-law has started a Go Fund Me campaign to help raise the funds for a power chair. Help Susan Hinton get a Power Chair was posted on the Mudcat Facebook page, but more people over here on Mudcat probably actually know Susan to respond. |
Subject: RE: Where’s wysiwyg? From: Stilly River Sage Date: 14 Mar 22 - 09:11 PM Lots of Mudcatters over the years have been able to stay at Susan's house during folk events in the area (at her big old parsonage in Pennsylvania.) She could use your help now, and as the saying goes, every little bit helps. |
Subject: RE: Where’s wysiwyg? From: Stilly River Sage Date: 12 Apr 22 - 05:43 PM We had a couple of people remark and donate since the link to the Go-Fund-Me campaign was put up - lost in the most recent database corruption - and information was added about other models of power chair that don't cost as much. Without going in search of it now, I will say go look at the Costco offerings. |
Subject: RE: Where’s wysiwyg? From: leeneia Date: 15 Apr 22 - 12:30 PM I just ordered a lightweight, collapsible scooter which can go on an airplane. I ordered it from Amazon, because I've heard of Amazon. In the process of ordering, I learned some things: look at the weight limit for the person the scooter can carry look for four wheels rather than three. four are more stable look at how you steer it. I rejected the joystick. look for a basket or other method of carrying purchases, books, etc if all else fails, sew a walker pocket A lot depends on the weight of the user. There are lots of scooters up to 250 pounds. Mine is 265. I think once the user gets above that, prices increase. Maybe that's why y'all are looking at the $3000 model. |
