Subject: BS: I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again - Again From: Mr Red Date: 18 Dec 19 - 06:36 AM Fans of "I'm Sorry I'll Read that Again" (still being broadcast on Radio 4 Extra) will, no doubt, be intrigued by the concept of a tribute show! OFFSTAGE Theatre Group Fakebook page It looks like they are based in Gloucestershire. The only date I know of for their skit show ISIRTA-A is Stroud Sub Rooms Fri 6th March the day before our Ceilidh there with "Juice" from south Wales - look see. |

Subject: RE: BS: I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again - Again From: DMcG Date: 18 Dec 19 - 12:27 PM Maybe that's why I am so out of touch. I haven't watched even one episode of any of those (or their UK equivalent.) |
Subject: RE: BS: I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again - Again From: DMcG Date: 18 Dec 19 - 12:30 PM Mind you, there is a programme on one of the channels called 'dance moms' which I originally read as 'dance morris'. I might watch that (if it existed.) |
Subject: RE: BS: I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again - Again From: DaveRo Date: 18 Dec 19 - 12:32 PM im sorry ill read that again is back One or two gems... "I saw very little of my mother as a child ... she was a grown-up by the time I met her" ... but I'm not sure it works on stage. |
Subject: RE: BS: I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again - Again From: robomatic Date: 18 Dec 19 - 03:50 PM I recently discovered BBC4Extra and I've been enjoying ISIRTA again (and Round the Horne). I still remember phrases from old shows I heard when a Boston radio station operator played them after hours. |
Subject: RE: BS: I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again - Again From: Mr Red Date: 19 Dec 19 - 05:25 AM I haven't watched even one episode of any of those (or their UK equivalent.) same here. But Apprentice re-runs? With Twitler? I thought politicians were bound not to allow their shows while campaigning - or was that only with California/Arnold Schwarzenegger ? |

Subject: RE: BS: I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again - Again From: Senoufou Date: 19 Dec 19 - 06:46 AM I used to adore Round The Horne. Kenneth Williams was so funny. "Hello I'm Julian and this is my friend Sandy..." And Rambling Syd Rumpo. Bill Oddie was great too. "Stuff That Gibbon" song and "My name is Angus Prune and I always listen to 'I'm sorry I'll read that again'" Those were the days...sigh... |
Subject: RE: BS: I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again - Again From: G-Force Date: 19 Dec 19 - 08:41 AM Back in the sixties, when it was first on, I never used to think 'Round The Horne' was a patch on its predecessor 'Beyond Our Ken'. Don't know why, maybe I was just older by then. Or maybe different writers. |
Subject: RE: BS: I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again - Again From: Senoufou Date: 19 Dec 19 - 09:38 AM I used to like 'Educating Archie' and 'The Navy Lark'. We only had a radio (no TV in the fifties) and the valves had to warm up before the sound came on. (Gawd I'm ancient!) |
Subject: RE: BS: I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again - Again From: Mr Red Date: 19 Dec 19 - 09:40 AM but I'm not sure it works on stage well they always recorded in front of an audience, indeed John Cleese has said that in the end the audience were so keen to get involved it was eventually to difficult to do the shows. And the ISIRTA-A image shows the cast performing with old fashioned microphones on stands - just as they did in the days of RtH, BOK & ISIRTA |
