Subject: BS: Impeachment 'noose'
From: Donuel
Date: 12 Jan 20 - 11:37 AM

The President's lawyer Gulliani is under the delusion all branches of goverment are controled by the Cheato.
Mr.G tells the Prez;
The Sumprem Court Justice Roberts, appointed by Trump, may simply dismiss the trial in the Senate and save time and tumult.

The constitution says the Supreme Court will preside over the trial.

Since a judge can dismiss a trial he also has the power to set aside a verdict, which means he tells the jury they are full of shit and the judge will sentence the defendant.

Since the trial may begin next week I guess its up to Trump to decide how much he will pay Roberts to dismiss.

Roberts was appointed by W. Bush, not the current jackass, and while a conservative has voted with the liberals on the bench on some key decisions.

Trump litteraly yanked Roberts around
and yes we have George Jr. to thank for Roberts

However Roberts has disappointed conservatives before.

Yup I did that, even though I know precisely what Roberts looks like from his 3 Inaugurations of Obama (the 1st one was flubbed and redone) and only one for Trump. I got up at 4 today but enough about me - I may be the 1st person to imagine Roberts setting aside the verdict.

It can stimulate and tease me
Impeachment lasts forever all right
I've no fear that he might devour me
Impeachmnt is forever, It lasts beyond a lifetime
See it, smell it and support it
I can see ev'ry part, nothing hides in his heart to hurt me
I don't need lies, for what good will lies do me?
Impeachment never lies to me
For when he's gone, truth will carry on
Impeachment is forever, it wil last forvever I figure
Unlike men, Impeachment lingers…

The senators voted and did not have enough votes to dismiss.

One thing to remember about Roberts is that he is interested both in his legacy and the integrity of the Judiciary. I suspect this trial will be more real than many Republicans fear.
It is also my understanding that this will be the first trial he has presided over.

The purpose of bringing all of the motions to amend yesterday [until 2 this morning was not to win the votes on the items. It was to get the Republicans on the record as opposing a real trial. The only one who broke with the majority even once was Collins. The decisions were a foregone conclusion.

Roberts came across well last night but only broke with his largely ceremonial role when he admonished both sides for calling each other liars rather than using pussy foot language such as "My worthy opponent is truly mistaken about the facts, which are . . ." His statement essentially said "This is the Senate in which a certain standard of decorum is expected."

Those who support Trump are simply reciting the party line over and over, regardless of what everyone knows to be true. Repeat it often enough and the news cycle shifts and maybe the lies hit eyeballs first. There are various sayings about how fast lies travel:

“A lie will go round the world while truth is pulling its boots on.” C. H. Spurgeon, Gems from Spurgeon (1859).
An earlier version appears in the Portland (Me.) Gazette, Sept. 5, 1820: “Falsehood will fly from Maine to Georgia, while truth is pulling her boots on.”
Still earlier, Jonathan Swift wrote in The Examiner, Nov. 9, 1710: “Falsehood flies, and the truth comes limping after it.”

Trump is hoping a lie will set him free. The rest of us are hoping that as citizens watch their senators toe the line and not support the constitution that they will unelect them in the next cycle.

Patriots vs Partisans

The bottom line is that I have a healthy belief in Americans being able to accomplish virtually anything, so long as we are united and apply ourselves appropriately. By default, anything that can undo our unity stands in the way of Americans employing “good ole’ Yankee ingenuity” and facing down any threat or problem is our most serious national security threat. In our current environment, so-called “fake news,” intentionally and unintentionally disseminated by foreign enemies and those who believe themselves patriotic is without a doubt the single most effective means of undoing our national unity. This, in my opinion makes “fake news” our primary national security threat.

No problem or, by extension, threat can be solved or mitigated while we are at odds with our fellow citizens. Our enemies understand this all too well and do all possible to unravel the tightly woven, patriotic fabric of U.S. society with media designed to divide us. Their primary method is to use mis- and disinformation as tools to divide us or, as is commonly known these days, “fake news.” The truth is facts matter and, more importantly, the truth that is made up by those facts matters the most. The only ingredient missing between opposing groups, political parties, ethnicities, etc., is settling on a foundation of facts to any problem or threat. Like all problem solving, you cannot succeed without analysis of what is known.

The street wise recognize the mistake that the former reality show master of ceremony and corrupt businessman has made. It is the same mistake made by petty criminals and polished con men alike.
It is repeating the same crime multiple times until a Method of Operation cause them to be captured and convicted.
'Smart crooks' realize you don't pull the same con twice, you do a new scam.

There is also a fraction of criminals who derive an additional thrill from the risk of getting caught and say things to make it more possible. I see both of these behaviors in my President.

My aim is not to educate criminals but to show an absense of common sense among criminals.

Senator Schiff reminds us:

"When a man unprincipled in private life, desperate in his fortune, bold in his tenper, possessed of some talents, having the example of military habits - despotic in his ordinary demeanor - knpwn to have scoffed in private at he principles of liberty - when such a man is seen to mount the hobby horse of popularity - to join in the cry of danger to liberty - to take every opportunity of embarrassing the General Government and bringing it under suspicion - to flatter and fall in with all the nonsense of the zealots of the day - it may justly be suspected that his object is to throw things into confusion that he may 'ride the storm and direct the whirlwind'"

Alexander Hamilton

I take heart from Don Trump's extraordinary ignorance. He knows only the history of Adolf Hitler from Mien Kampf. If he knew of Crassus he would be far more dangerous and have an affinity for the man. He is often called "The richest man in Rome". A multi billionaire in todays economy, he 'earned' his money as a real estate tycoon.

Crassus began his public career as a military commander under Lucius Cornelius Sulla during his civil war. Following Sulla's assumption of the dictatorship, Crassus amassed an enormous fortune through real estate speculation. Rome voted to give Crassus an army to defeat a slave revolt that scared the rich. Crassus rose to political prominence following his victory over the slave revolt led by Spartacus, sharing the consulship with his rival Pompey the Great. The word decimation started with Crassus when he punished his army for a loss in battle by haveing 1 in 10 soldiers beaten to death by fellow soldiers.

A political and financial patron of Julius Caesar, Crassus joined Caesar and Pompey in the unofficial political alliance known as the First Triumvirate. Together the three men dominated the Roman political system. The alliance did not last long, due to the ambitions, egos, and jealousies of the three men. While Caesar and Crassus were lifelong allies, Crassus and Pompey disliked each other and Pompey grew increasingly envious of Caesar's spectacular successes in the Gallic Wars. The alliance was re-stabilized at the Lucca Conference in 56 BC, after which Crassus and Pompey again served jointly as consuls. Following his second consulship, Crassus was appointed as the Governor of Roman Syria. Crassus used Syria as the launchpad for a military campaign against the Parthian Empire, Rome's long-time Eastern enemy. Crassus' campaign was a disastrous failure, ending in his defeat and death at the Battle of Carrhae.

Crassus' death permanently unravelled the alliance between Caesar and Pompey. His political influence and wealth had been a counterbalance to the two greater militarists. Within four years of Crassus' death, Caesar crossed the Rubicon and began a civil war against Pompey and the Optimates. You probably know how that ended.

The Republican defense is called the dirty underwear defense.
They throw dirty underwear against the wall and what ever sticks is what they will use to throw at their adversary. For example;

It is a shame of a hoax of a witch hunt of a lie of a nothing burger of a mole hill of a cootie claim of a delusion of a sick insane democrat mind.
or
There is no possible crime because under executive priviledge a President can not be accussed of a crime.
or
If something is worth lying or cheating about then that proves it is important enough to be the truth.
or
na nana nah nah, my votes bigger than yours
