Subject: BS: Game changer: Laughing to new success From: Donuel Date: 28 Jan 20 - 10:10 AM Driving my wife to work today I had an epiphany, it had us screaming in laughter. It was such a relief of pent up anguish, the release was great. I think we all could feel the same. UK had Brexit but the US is suffering through a billion dollars of political ads by one candidate alone. I'VE HAD ENOUGH. The game changer is hysterically funny political candidate ads. followed by "I approve the shit out of this thing". Hire Colbert, Mahre and the Geico ad men and let them loose. Then we elect the funniest. It worked for Ukraine. Several billion dollars of funny would put this country in a much better mood. Even for folks entertained by Donald's comedic antics love funny and laughter. Those candidates running dry ads would have to compete with the funny ones. The Republicans criticizing laughter woukd be funny too. |

Subject: RE: BS: Game changer: Laughing to new success From: Donuel Date: 28 Jan 20 - 05:06 PM You just showed us proof how important jokes are. Humor is funniest when true. This is something Democrats are better at. I am at low tide and can not create for another 2 weeks. Anyway others are better commercial writers than me. |

Subject: RE: BS: Game changer: Laughing to new success From: Mr Red Date: 30 Jan 20 - 04:12 AM I suspect satire can be counter productive. If you have a favourite on the political spectrum, just see how funny satire aimed at them is............ |

Subject: RE: BS: Game changer: Laughing to new success From: Donuel Date: 30 Jan 20 - 06:00 AM I thought of commercials that are already very popular and funny and reworking them to support/buy a candidate. When ever either version of the funny commercial played an association would be made. More bang for your buck. A sense of humor would be portrayed as a healthy freindly thing. Satire doesn't work. Not here anyway. |

Subject: RE: BS: Game changer: Laughing to new success From: Donuel Date: 30 Jan 20 - 10:35 AM I don't like it but we are in the reality show century. The absurdity of the 20th century was worse. Until our species lightens up with more laughter we might not get another century. |

Subject: RE: BS: Game changer: Laughing to new success From: Stilly River Sage Date: 30 Jan 20 - 11:58 AM This is why Andy Borowitz is so popular in The New Yorker. He has to make it clear that his pieces aren't the news because they come so close to what is actually happening around tRump. |
