Subject: Obit: suspense author Mary Higgins Clark From: keberoxu Date: 01 Feb 20 - 01:43 PM No, Mrs. Clark will not be remembered for high-brow literature, but she surely gave entertainment and diversion to generations of readers of suspense/mystery stories. Without reservation I recommend her volume of memoirs, titled Kitchen Privileges, about growing up Irish-American in the Bronx, and struggling to make a living after the untimely death of the father of her children. Even more, I recommend the audiobook version of Kitchen Privileges read by Mary Higgins Clark herself. It made wonderful listening while driving hundreds of miles alone on North American freeways and toll roads, years ago. |

Subject: RE: Obit: author Mary Higgins Clark (1927-2020) From: Stilly River Sage Date: 02 Feb 20 - 10:26 AM Deja vu - I thought she'd died a while back, but that was probably another mystery author with a long track record of series fiction. For those who (like me) prefer to read books in publication order when they're series with the same protagonists, there is Fantastic Fiction. It also helps identify books that are re-published with new titles. |
