Subject: Ireland's Eurovision Entry From: Senoufou Date: 05 Mar 20 - 02:39 PM I've just been watching this on Youtube. Lesley Roy singing 'Story of My Life'. I absolutely love it, and to me her voice sounds very similar to that of Katy Perry. Anyone else heard it yet and likes it too? |

Subject: RE: Ireland's Eurovision Entry From: Jack Campin Date: 06 Mar 20 - 11:14 AM Ridiculous fake American accent punctuated by weird gasps. I couldn't make out a word. Terrific video production though. |
Subject: RE: Ireland's Eurovision Entry From: GUEST Date: 06 Mar 20 - 11:58 AM It seems very 'woke' (if I've got this new word correct!) I liked the video very much. Anyone think it has some chance of scoring points in the Contest? |

Subject: RE: Ireland's Eurovision Entry From: GUEST,Modette Date: 06 Mar 20 - 12:06 PM There's a danger it might win, but the Irish economy's booming again so we can probably afford to mount the affair in 2021. Here's the 'official' video. As for her accent, she sounds like a typical Dub and her enunciation is perfectly clear to me. You should be glad, Jack, that it's not this Derry girl performing Ireland's entry - Nadine Coyle. |

Subject: RE: Ireland's Eurovision Entry From: Senoufou Date: 06 Mar 20 - 02:12 PM Thank you Modette for doing the blue clicky. (I'm useless with technology) |
Subject: RE: Ireland's Eurovision Entry From: Backwoodsman Date: 07 Mar 20 - 06:14 AM It’s a decently-produced pop song, in the vein that pop songs are currently floating around in. She sings in a ‘fake’ voice, and with the standard strange accent and diction that actually exists nowhere on earth outside the Pop-Music-Bubble. It will probably do very well in the EVSC. |
Subject: RE: Ireland's Eurovision Entry From: GUEST,Jim Martin Date: 07 Mar 20 - 07:56 AM 'Modette' - Irish economy is in great danger from the Coronavirus - possibly greater than the recession! |
Subject: RE: Ireland's Eurovision Entry From: punkfolkrocker Date: 08 Mar 20 - 12:05 AM We're going with Ukraine, Iceland, and Georgia at the moment.. The 3 me and the mrs both agree on... |
Subject: RE: Ireland's Eurovision Entry From: JHW Date: 08 Mar 20 - 06:46 AM Usual sort of thing they play in the Gents at the Sports Centre. Mechanised accompaniment and inconsequential song sung by who cares. |
Subject: RE: Ireland's Eurovision Entry From: The Sandman Date: 08 Mar 20 - 10:36 AM tht is not a dublin accent, modette , are you pulling our legs |
