Subject: New Yorker feature story, , May 2020 From: keberoxu Date: 17 May 20 - 02:33 PM I have been wondering for some years now: if Trump, as US President, is in some sense an employee, working for unseen employers who dictate to him, then: who the heck hired him in the first place? One part of the answer may lie in the United States' Greenwich, Connecticut, and all that it stands for. Greenwich native Evan Osnos, for the New Yorker Response to controversial New Yorker article (you have to scroll down past the adverts) |

Subject: RE: BS: The Greenwich (CT, USA) Republicans From: Donuel Date: 18 May 20 - 03:07 PM Historically for the last 100 years the Republican party has always bought a candidate for President dumb enough to be controled by the business class. A few exceptions exist like TR but its always the Democrats that tried to represent people over business overall. In Trump's case he is by all means dumb enough but he is too dumb, he didn't stay bought and I daresay believes he is a genius. Now the Republicans have a loose cannon wrecking the deck on the ship of state at the cost of hundreds of thousands of lives, a depression and an immigration policy that amounts to kidnapping children. All these links here are microscopes on issues. There are very few posts that are more like telescopes on politics. But there are some. |
Subject: RE: BS: The Greenwich (CT, USA) Republicans From: Donuel Date: 18 May 20 - 04:00 PM Republicans are accustomed to choking down bile for the perceived greater good. Without the perceived existence of a greater good by a sitting President, the survivors are just in it for themselves. To subjugate and conquer is difficult to do when you are being eaten by your fellow dogs. We the people have paid dearly for a more perfect government. There is opportunity in this darkness should you decide to take it |
