Subject: RE: BS: programme about 5g From: Mr Red Date: 26 Jun 20 - 04:48 AM 5g is not more powerful Not more powerful? At 1/r intensity the nearer you are to a transmitter, the more energy you are inundated with. 5g needs far more transmitters to get the coverage, and even if you didn't study Radio Comms at Uni, you would see that you are more likely to be close to a source of microwaves. And microwave ovens have pretty strong regulations about leakage. Then there is the possibility that you live/work under a transmitter, say in a school. The 1/r2 (transformer) field is more penetrating, but safe at > 20 wavelengths. And can it be made directional towards the street, I think not, if I remember rightly? And at higher frequencies the signal can penetrate further. It is touted for its penetration of buildings (to a degree). 5g will come to a locale near you, it will be unstoppable, unless you live in sparsely populated areas, in which case don't frequent the transmitter spot. It will need far higher powers to reach, as they found in Orkney. The only saving grace is that it is easier (eventually) to make phased array aerials which would direct more energy at the (moving) receivers, even multiple ones. But only in big cities where the traffic justifies the expense. Did the programme point out that they are not using the higher frequencies yet? Well maybe only on Orkney, as a trial. Slight of hand, I smell. Life ain't binary when you have insight into the mechanisms. |

Subject: RE: BS: programme about 5g From: Mr Red Date: 25 Jun 20 - 04:26 AM I would be more concerned by the phone glued to a person's ear for hours on end, at 1 watt. Ultimately 5g will use higher frequencies and they induce heat more readily. The irony is that existing frequencies are being used at first so any effect will be no more than 3 or 4g is now. A subtle mendacity to prove the effects are no worse! The other hidden lie is that more transmitters are needed, so there is more radiation (true tech term) but as they say, it is non-ionising. Yet 3g was said to raise the blood flow in the brain, which would be by temperature increase. But electromagnetic fields can be made to affect the brain, one is called transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) - which is not comparable in this context. It is the phones that you should worry about. And the annoying speaker phones that idiots seem to think we want to hear! |

Subject: RE: LYR ADD: The Nightingale (Bonny, Bonny) From: Joe Offer Date: 26 Mar 03 - 12:23 PM I searched the Digital Tradition, but didn't find that one, Masato. I think Dick titled it (wreck) to distinguish it form the many "One Morning in May" songs. -Joe Offer- |
