Anyone remember an old drinking song about a guy who chose not to fight? Iit was about him observing his friends drinking and getting beat up over the years. In the end he figured he’d won because he still had his health.
I heard this played in a bar about 20 years ago and laughed until my guys hurt. I was hoping someone here might remember it.
The only line I remember was “... I seen a glass eye rolled across the floor”.
Thanks for any help.

Hi - I crosslinked this thread with our other threads that mention glass eyes. I can't think of a song that goes in the direction you describe, but take a look at the other threads and see if you find something close.
At least that's a start.

Yes. It's on the tip of my tongue. I'll poke around my old cassette tapes and see if I can find it. Michael Cooney comes to mind?

Could you be thinking of Bobby Bare's "The Winner"?

Yes! Michael Cooney sung it in one of his albums.

Here it is by Kris Kristofferson.

Here's Cooney - Winner.

So he does have a glass eye, but it doesn't roll across the floor. In San Antone his teeth roll like Chicklets across the floor.

Thanks guys, that’s really good.
I remembered it a bit different but yes, that’s the one.
It’s funny though, there was a native fellow with a guitar singing this in the bar back when I was 18 or 19. I laughed and laughed, could hardly believe I’d never heard that song before then... A strange coincidence, someone must have been trying to tell me something because it was that same night I got some teeth knocked out... not sure if any sense got knocked in tho.
Anyways, you guys are great, some of those old songs have some of the best charisma to go with them.
