HELLO MY HEART
(Tom Dundee)

Hello my heart
I’ve missed you every minute that we’ve been apart
I’ve got so much to do the only way to start
Is to be in touch with you

Now can it be true
Are you coming back to me like I wanted you to
Now I don’t know how I ever made it through
Without you

Oh I guess you know
There have been some others but they come and they go
I can only get so high and then I’m fallin’ so low
Without you

Hello my heart

Remember when
We were all together and I gave you to a friend
But we couldn’t go on
And when I went away I knew that there was somethin’ all wrong
You were gone

Remember when
We were all together and I gave you to a friend
But we couldn’t go on
And when I went away I knew that there was somethin’ all wrong
You were gone

Well I can see
You still belong to the same one that took you from me
Is she gonna give you back, is she gonna set us free
To do a little lovin’ and oh,
Hello my heart

Hello my heart
Hello my heart

From the album LYFE TIME A RHYME:

Tom wrote in the liner notes:
Went one rainy night down to Tacoma to a little $10/hr. studio. Just wanted to play around and over-dub some tracks with myself. There was a used-up synthesizer over against the wall I got the string sounds with. After a couple hours we mixed it and I took the tape home to my basement apartment in the central district in Seattle and listened to it on the headphones of my tape player, rewound it and listened again until I fell asleep. I had always wanted to write a song I could sing over and over, like Paxton’s “Last thing on my mind”. Who I wrote it about is not important; it’s who you think about when you hear it.

Beautiful performance by Reilly & Maloney:
