Just a minor pedantic point, but isn't an echidna a monotreme, and a platypus different, but also a monotreme? Just saying.

You have to get it right, because the platypus feet have poisonous spikes and you don't want to upset a platypus.

A few years ago we had an echnidna visit our garden for a day or so but the only pics I managed to get were of a spiky bum......not what was under it. So I don't know if it was a girl or a boy echidna.
