There's so much good stuff on there, I particularly liked Backwater Blues with Irma Thomas on the vocal.
Cooder and Taj Mahal recently released a really fun album called get on board that's supposed to be a tribute to a Sonny and Brownie LP of the same name that was released in 1952. The first time that Ry and Taj recorded together since 1968.

Thanks for info gillymor ....

My introduction to Taj Mahal and Ry Cooder goes back to 1968. My pal Andrew took a few guitar lessons with Taj and I got to meet him in the musician's lounge at Whiskey A-Go-Go in that era.   His collaboration with Ry Cooder, Jesse Ed Davis - https://open.spotify.com/album/15wBYO0vdGdKGF6MBsAL4a?autoplay=true
is my on-ramp to a musical life (Guitar, Songwriting). Turns out that Ry Cooder was also a graduate of Santa Monica HS (1964). I graduated in 1970.   Their collaboration on a tribute album to Brownie McGhee and Sonny Terry is a shout out to the root music we enjoy talking about on the Mudcat - Oh - What a Beautiful City
