Subject: Lyr Req: Walk Right In - Seeking Spanish lyrics From: GUEST,stevebaggish Date: 16 May 23 - 01:16 PM Jose Feliciano does a great version of Gus Cannon's "Walk Right In" (made famous, I believe, by the Rooftop Singers). He sings verses in Spanish and German, and I can't make out what words he is saying :( Would especially like to know what he is saying in Spanish. Can anyone help? Thanks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-JBVbeFnkg |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Walk Right In - Seeking Spanish lyrics From: cnd Date: 16 May 23 - 02:02 PM My Spanish is pretty rusty, so apologies beforehand for any misdirection, but this is what it sounds like to me: Anda, vien, entra por aqui, mira pontir a descansar Anda, vien, entra por aqui, mira pontir a descansar Todo el mundo habla de una manera nueva Una manera aparentar Anda, vien, entra por a ti, mira pontir a descansar which translates more directly to: Come on, come, come in here, let's put you to rest Come on, come, come in here, let's put you to rest All the world is talking of a new manner A new way of pretend Come on, come, come in here, let's put you to rest No help here with the German section, sorry |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Walk Right In - Seeking Spanish lyrics From: Monique Date: 16 May 23 - 06:53 PM I hear Anda, ven, entra por aquí, mira, ponte a descansar (x2) Todo el mundo habla de una manera nueva Una manera para andar. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Walk Right In - Seeking Spanish lyrics From: cnd Date: 17 May 23 - 08:11 AM Monique, you're probably right. I debated "para andar" in the chorus, but I didn't think it fit with the original intent of the song as well. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Walk Right In - Seeking Spanish lyrics From: Monique Date: 17 May 23 - 09:21 AM I asked my niece who lives in Spain and lived for 6 months in Mexico, she hears the same as me. "Todo el mundo habla de una manera nueva para andar" ~= "Everybody's talking 'bout a new way of walking" and "una manera + a verb in the infinitive without a preposition" doesn't work. |
