I assume you're referring to the piece usually called "Jeanette and Jeannot." There is 1850 sheet music here: https://www.loc.gov/item/2023803222/.

It was first advertisements of it were from 1847. What seems to be the first "field collection" was from Huntington's Songs the Whalemen Sang in 1849.
