can anyone help me w/ the second line of the second verse? i've got 'as he waited all those years joy had mingled wiht his tears...' and then i have trouble until 'in his hand he held a note' etc...

i can't find the lyrics anywhere on the web, or in the database here.

Poole's second verse is:

As he waited all these years
Joy mingled with his tears
His poor soul had faded out with the tide
In his hand he held a note
And those simple words he wrote
If the letter comes just place it by my side

That differs from the Dresser/Sturm original that can be found on the Levy sheet music site. Poole only sang 2 verses whereas the original had three.
