Subject: Music: Heartbeat from the Soul From: Beer Date: 24 Aug 25 - 09:49 AM Time to give my brother Norman Doucette a little musical plug. Norman's music tackles many subjects that most musicians shy away from. Such as the atrocities of war, drug overdose, poverty and so on. he has 2 c/d's to his credit, "Some Mother's Son" and "Dangerous Ground". He is currently in studio getting together to release his third c/d. All his material is original. Norman's stage name is Stormin Norman and his music is available on YouTube, ReverbNation and Spotify. Stories in song with feelings in every note. Here is a sample of his music. Subject: RE: Norman Doucette: Music, a Heartbeat from the Soul From: Beer Date: 25 Aug 25 - 12:52 PM Thanks. He is a dark heavy writer. "Angle With a Broken Heal" is derived from a very young lady he was trying to help who O.D. in the end. I like "Cougar on the Loose"., much lighter. Would love to hear Shania Twain sing it. |

Subject: RE: Norman Doucette: Music, a Heartbeat from the Soul From: Beer Date: 26 Aug 25 - 05:28 PM Mum sings a few lines of a Mi'kmaq song she learned as a young child. She left us in 2007 at the age of 91. The Mi'kmag are a First Nations group from the Maritime Provinces of Canada and parts of Maine. The following song "Tamarack Jack" is the first song Norman wrote. The song is more of the north country then of the Maritimes. https://youtu.be/hGI7sU1J6rc?si=mAKXWzfL7NCG7UIK |

Subject: RE: Norman Doucette: Music, a Heartbeat from the Soul From: Beer Date: 22 Sep 25 - 04:47 PM That's a J-45 Sunburst Gibson 1954. Here is a short story. We were celebrating at a tavern after a ball game and this worker from a different department came to me and said that he would sell me his guitar for $300.00. I told him to come to my office tomorrow when he is sober. The next day around 11 a.m. he arrives and says; "I remember what you said to me last night. The price is still the same". So I purchased it and gave it to my brother Norman who was in need of a half decent guitar on the condition that he never sells it but passes it on to someone in his will. |

I had a J-45 from the '60's that I traded off when the action got too high for me but was perfect for the old guy I swapped with who rarely got above the 3rd fret. |
