Subject: Old Kentucky Bell re' a rebel & a horse From: katlaughing Date: 01 Feb 00 - 06:14 AM My daughter was here last night and really enjoyed listening in on those of us who went to hearme and sang old cowboy and other songs. She reminded me of a few, then told about this one. She is pretty sure it was a song, but it may have just been a poem. It is about a rebel soldier near the enemy lines in Kentucky, who is taken in and helped by a woman, who, when he gets better, sends him back home by giving him her beloved old horse, Bell, who faithfully carries him home. At least the gist that I remember from what she told me last night. Have any of you ever heard it? Thanks, katlaughing |
