I know there have been a few problems lately with these, and I am just checking to see if they were rec'd as I have had no response to them. Aine-Feb 2; Lucius-Feb 10; Roger in Balt-Feb 12; and Nogs-Feb 14. None of them were big deals, I would just like to know if they were rec'd Thanks! Sorcha

Dear Sorcha,

I've sent *you* a personal message, just to make it's working from my end ;-)

You have to be sure and use the special character over the capital 'A' in my name for me to receive the message. Just copy my name from a message I've posted, then paste it into the 'To' section when you send your message. That ought to work. It has to be sent to 'Áine' and not 'Aine'.

Well, the first time I tried to e mail Spaw, it bounced and said bbc's address was wrong. and it was. Spaw sent the correct one. Don't know if he's fixed that wiht bbc yet or not.

Well, the easy way to send a personal message to Áine is to type "ine" in the "to" box. Several names will come up, but Áine is almost at the top of the list. I notice there's an "Aine" there, too. Is that the same person?

If you have done the horrible no-no of submitting TWO Mudcat memberships, you may want to send me a personal message and ask me to label one of the two memberships inactive," so people don't get confused and send personal messages to an account you're not using. We don't delete those extra memberships, because they have to stay in place to account for Forum messages posted under that membership.

But please don't submit two memberships. It makes a mess. If you have trouble logging onto your Mudcat identity, go to the Help Forum and holler for help.

The other way to get the accent on Áine (and it's called a fada - though it looks the same as an acute accent in French it doesn't mean the same thing)is to push down the key on the keyboard called Alt Gr at the same time as the Capital A, and there it is.

Now someone tell me how to get a few other accents, so I can post quotations in French sometimes and look clever.

Yes, McGrath, I did all that. There is a site here, that has an ASCI II chart that works for me.

Á is ASCII 193 so it should display if you insert an ampersand followed by 193 into your post. Here is a test of this absurd notion: &193ine Tada tada! (We'll see).
